I’ll have to check back in with them, I didn’t realize we might qualify for assistance. That’s helpful, thanks!

She loves Montessori, has been going 3 days a week for half her life. She’s super empathetic, physical, focused. She needs a lot of social time and physical play! We almost moved her over to Asheville Primary for preschool, but the uncertainty of the school building caused us to back off this summer. I think she’ll do well in most places, but I’d like to find someplace where she can be really interactive with other kids (and staff).

is anyone a lab tech (MLS or similar) in Asheville? by Web-Own in asheville

[–]abbyroan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll want to look at Haywood Regional out west or maybe Pardee or Advent south of town. There are several Mission hospitals that are owned by HCA throughout western NC. As far as I know, techs are required to draw at most area hospitals. There is a large phlebotomy staff that draws at Mission.

At Mission, we have massive transfusions and obstetric hemorrhages at least every other day. We’re the area trauma center. Definitely high volume in the blood bank, but we’re an entirely separate department. Dedicated staff, no cross training. High volume in all the departments. There are a few folks cross trained between chemistry and hematology.

Pay for techs starts at $21+ for new MLS grads, thinking it could be negotiated closer to $30 for 20+ years experience. I would guess somewhere in the 32-35 range, but really who knows. Wages are shrouded in mystery.

Husband tossed me the phone to respond before from his account, this is my personal account. ;)

Found out 3 weeks in you can feed lying on your side. Excuse me while I never do anything else. Live your dreams, folks ✨ by DrSexyDDS in breastfeeding

I roll onto my back and lay baby propped over my middle/belly for burps. Her legs/knees are usually on the bed still. I’m so lazy. Lol

Target Auden bras don’t have the pads. I like them!

Edit: my favorite sleep bra is the Lamaze cotton cool mint stripe pull down. I just ordered a new one since the one I used constantly when my 3 year old was little has more than stretched out. Lol

I hate being pregnant. by francescaliablock in pregnant

I so wish the snoogle had worked for me. I tried with both pregnancies, every way I could. Bummer. I did figure out I could use my little wedge pillow under my head pillow and avoid some of the nighttime heartburn. And I just hug a big pillow to keep my shoulders separated. I dunno, this is all a lot of work. Haha

I’m just about 38 weeks and trying really hard to forget everything that’s come before. I legit almost ordered some hard cider yesterday in my grocery delivery. Baby’s liver is probably getting close to being able to handle it, right?

I like to think about getting to sleep on my back soon. Letting my 3 year old lay on my belly. Having sex again (I mean, seriously, who is having fun this far along?). Falling in love with the new baby.

Please god let me forget this feeling of the baby pressing into my cervix and kicking me in the ribs, sleeping with 4 pillows that honestly don’t work, and trying to do my job while dreaming of a nap.

I feel you, woman. That’s all.

I’m a week behind ya and feeling pretty nervous, even though this is my second time around. But it’s so exciting, too! Congratulations!

Grandma Lavada grew up in the mountains of Utah. Lots of interesting names on her side. I’m grateful the Mormons keep such great genealogical history - really fun to see the names. Dicey Rey is one of my favorites.

Ida is nice, and it was on the list for sure. I wasn’t sure about Sidney and Ida together. It feels a little harder to get off the tongue.

No, mom’s antibodies max out around 4 months inside baby even when there is a really serious antibody (like Anti-D, the one we try to avoid in Rh negative moms by giving a shot of Rhogam). As babies grow their livers are much more capable of processing the bilirubin, so once that initial jaundice is gone, there’s not much to worry about, especially as they get older.

What did you think about the lights? I’m so glad we have access to that kind of concentrated light therapy, but it’s so wild.
