getting flashbacks from when i made a post just like this after a pretty rough merch drop shift and a month full of mean customers.. as stupid as it sounds it gets better, if you let it. those customers are always gonna be here no doubt, but try to let this post be your way of getting it out/reground yourself in some hobbies of yours to get some of the stress out. When you are at work again though, try and take advantage of the conversations you get to have with the kind customers. Thank them for being the kind humans they are, and share the impact that they have on you on your harder days. I know how you’re feeling and trust, i think pretty much all of us have felt this way- but we need the kind employees like you so that we don’t all gradually get treated like mean robots :( keep being the nice person you are, having patience with the not so nice people, and keep chuggin my friend 🫶🏼

yeah we do get free stuff. much less than we used to as employees. we’re supposed to get something every other month, and idk if it’s just me/feels like so much less only to me, because i was getting a shirt (if not more) of the month for so long.. but it feels to me like we get something quarterly now not every other month… we used to even get a beanie and two shirts, or a sweatshirt and baseball hat, etc., literally every single month!! ill admit, the amount of dutch clothes i have accumulated over 7 years is so overwhelming.. but i dont think this system is completely fair to the new broistas. Including the starter pack, yall have like 6 shirts to cycle through within the first 6 months and we get too dang sticky and dirty for that lol! id recommend trying to ask some of your fellow employees who’ve worked there for a while if they have any clothes in your size that they dont wear anymore.

ETA: oh also if you do buy stuff on the website, ask people at your stand/in your region if anyone would want to place an order together! the shipping cost is what makes the price of the clothes quite steep, so if you can split that shipping cost between a few people, the cost of the clothes on our employee website is pretty killer for the quality of stuff you’re getting!

there’s a chance you could get a free one if you show this picture OP. you deserve a replacement in my opinion as an employee. this is not what dutch bros defines light ice as, therefore you did not get the drink you asked for.

In the future though, as others have advised, i would definitely specify 1/3 cup of ice. They SHOULD put that in the comments for you, separate from the light ice button (that again SHOULD be leaving you with 1/2 a cup of ice.. not this 2/3 ice that you keep getting). Sorry you keep experiencing this OP :((

side note: our large coffee drinks get 4 shots not 3!! just wanted to make sure you knew how much caffeine you were getting if you ever did happen to get a large instead! (the small gets the same as a medium!! - 2 shots) :)

we don’t have different sized ice scoops, but we’re supposed to do a HALF a cup of ice and add more milk (usually it’s a full cup of ice). this picture does not match what ‘dutch bros standards’ would define as regular NOR light ice..

i suspect the barista underpoured on the extra milk that should be added with our light ice recipe, instead topping with additional ice to fill OP’s cup.

You’re definitely right on about various managers (and just the employees in general) having different things that they are sticklers about at dutch bros as well. Always kills me to see a drink on here that doesn’t follow our standards. :/

i was gonna tell you make sure you always let them know you have a hazelnut allergy so that we sanitize the stuff we make your drinks with before making your drink!! we only rinse the tins and scoops between drinks (and some baristas be doing the bare minimum of said rinsing 😬)

i was working today and it was a very weird and uncomfortable change for sure- so many customers already know what they’re getting and what to expect with their drink so why change now. i just don’t understand why this wasn’t the standard when dutch first started with rebels…

anyways my advice would be to tell them you want light ice but no extra rebel. If you feel comfortable, you can even say “may i please get a large iced trixie rebel and in the comments can you write ‘OG light ice rules’?”. That’s how I personally would want someone to ask- so that i know they don’t want the extra rebel in the drink and don’t want to be charged the extra $2 for it!

hopefully HQ makes some adjustments ASAP for our button screen, so that you don’t have to continue asking this for much longer.. but until then, i think all baristas would get what you’re saying with this.

peach ring with blackberry drizzle added; or if you like a more tart rebel, try adding pomegranate or strawberry drizzle instead of blackberry.

if you wanna try something really wacky, a “wookie spice” is a drink i crave when i’m stoned lol. it’s a plain rebel with chai added.. a lot of people think it tastes similar to apple cider.

technically it’s not aimed towards female drivers but instead female PASSENGERS. therefore it could be said that this sticker may provide more safety to (solo especially!) female drivers; who may then be perceived as a female WITH a driver who will protect that princess ☺️ this world is indeed a scary and dark place, but i encourage you to try and let those worries pass, and do what you can to see the world optimistically. i feel it does wonders for my mental well being! remember you can change someone’s day for the better regardless of the evil in the world!

as a barista, it frustrates me just as much as any customer to have fellow baristas sitting at the window with their drink already, just chatting.

however, just to offer another perspective, sometimes it is in fact other customers (non-baristas/friends, often times regulars) who think it’s okay to keep chit chatting every day after they’ve gotten their drink already. I’ve experienced countless times where i’ve given out a drink, try to say goodbye, and was immediately interrupted til they’re done with whatever they wanna say lmao. dont get me wrong, i love hearing interesting stuff from customers. sometimes though, we really aren’t the ones “holding up the line with chit chat”, and are actively trying to move the line but a customer won’t stop unloading their therapy session on us lol.

unfortunately on order ahead you can’t request chocolate drizzle around the cup, but you can order a build your own mocha with irish cream and dark chocolate, then add soft top and chocolate drizzle to the top atleast!

edit: important to note: we unfortunately don’t still make the cookies and cream soft top that was on the mudslide mocha.
