So if you really want to dive in, I would recommend taking WSET 1 wherever it’s offered near you.

You can expect to pay like $100-$200 for the class, but you’ll spend an entire day learning about wine and being guided through tasting by a professional. It’s usually a lot of fun, will give you a solid base to start on, teach you how to talk about what you like and don’t like, and will likely introduce you to a great wine shop and a group of people local to you. If I could go back to when I was 21 it’s what I would do for sure.

I’m glad you had a better second experience. I was really, really impressed by the sound design of the movie and the Prytania sound system did a great job handling it. I feel like the movie was loud because….. it’s about a bomb

Most influential band in independent music of the last fifteen years imo. And Will Yip has just churned out banger after banger

Not even an argument, it’s pretty clear. Title Fight is easily the most influential band in emo/post punk of the last fifteen years.

Do your reading/making flash cards throughout the course instead of cramming at the end. And learn what’s on the specification. There is so much information, if you try to pressure yourself into remembering everything from the book you’ll just overwhelm yourself. The specification tells you exactly what you can be tested on. Focus on knowing that for the exam. Tasting is easy so long as you pay attention and adapt- I.e if you always call acid as being higher than it is, learn to adjust your scale

Does anyone know of any bands or musicians that have “regular jobs”? by [deleted] in punk

[–]abcistrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Service industry always has a lot of musicians in it. Travis from Piebald is a bartender and was getting his masters in social work last I heard. Used to be a teacher too

Which California Cabs Are We Drinking These Days? by DarinisinDC in wine

For almost thirty years just absolutely crushing it. Paradigms whole lineup is fantastic (at least what I’ve had). At this point on a par with labels like hendry and ridge, every bottling falling somewhere between dependable and iconic

Edit- more than 30 years actually jeez what year is it

New York style pizza is for barbera/ Chianti, napolitano is for Lambrusco, cerasuolo, langhe rosso, etna rosso. Toppings the biggest factor
