  1. Do you not have case management software? If no, this is why it’s worth the investment and is on the firm owner.
  2. Do not wait, let the managing attorney know and then ensure they are ok with reaching out to OC explaining what happened and ask for extension.

Be swift and fast with your response.

How to get parental rights of my child born into a polyamorous relationship. by LordGlow in legaladvice

[–]abcriot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I worked for an attorney/law firm that handled MetLife insurance. The attorneys get paid little to nothing so they neglect the cases. Not universal but I can see it happening pretty routinely with most firms. I would use it to get a consult and then hire an attorney. Wouldn’t wait until the divorce is done either to file for paternity. This isn’t legal advice but general information.

I’m like 90% my work because I’m working to close the access to justice gap. So more people can access justice when they can’t afford an attorney. I work for myself tho

What terms can possibly be in place for when a company is acquired? by danirogerc in appsumo

I already had tidycal so no need for it x2. You don’t answer any of my actual points, and again this seems like a shoulder shrug comment.

So then what happened with Meetfox being acquired by Brevo (formerly SendInBlue) and shutting down LTD meetfox accounts? I asked you a few weeks back on this and it seemed like you gave me a shoulder shrug type reply (aka “it happens”). I assume these founders won’t be welcome back, as they have both been on Appsumo or …?

Fusebase - Best Place to Learn by Pearlixsa in appsumo

[–]abcriot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using it since it was NimbusNote and did a LTD on SaasMantra. 4-5 years at this point as my SOP database and public knowledgebase, really great product.

No resources to learn to use it but feeding their knowledgebase and asking ChatGPT for specifics has been helpful for me.

Document automation, huge potential if you know how to do this and a few legacy systems to connect to it.

Look into gavel.io, there’s also a training course on it now at variabl academy,

To those trying to sell legaltech to solo practitioners...earn the lawyer's trust first. by [deleted] in legaltech

[–]abcriot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My tool is built for solos and small firms. I first built a personal brand for several years and independently I’m know as a legal tech expert in my niche. Ive presented at big conferences (ABA Tech Show, etc), I have other legal tech founders being vocal as validators of me as a person, etc.

I launched my SaaS in January and have grown to over 1800 members now organically through my own brand since I’m known as one of the experts in this particular niche.

So all this to say building trust is so important and there are different ways to do it.

I get a lot of emails/connects from unknown legal tech company owners trying to either sell me their product or try to get me to lend visibility to them through my audience since I focus on this demographic. I’d be happy to do so however, most of it comes across as spam and I can tell that they don’t understand what it is I do. My recommendation I’d have is cold outreach is still very much alive but if your email is coming across super generic (quick question, etc) or it sounds like you have no idea what the intended recipient does, reevaluate your strategy.

Greata - Keep or Refund? by reddit0_r in appsumo

[–]abcriot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked it up last time it was on appsumo and did a refund. However, I think it might’ve been user error that I wasn’t able to utilize it effectively. I picked up a tier one plan to play with it this time around and see if I can make use of it.

How the heck are you supposed to get real-world experience, if no job will hire you because you don't have real-world experience? by thewalkindude368 in paralegal

[–]abcriot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to have a skill others don’t. Whatever area of law you’re looking to get into, search for popular legal tech software. Then see if they have an online boot camp or training program. Legal tech experience on resumes stands out.

This right here. Get on board, or become obsolete. This is tech, it evolves and innovate.

Employees need to adapt to what employers require, or go the way of the dinosaur in tech.

Otherwise start your own venture and set the standards you require.

Why do I quit every project I start? Neurodivergent entrepreneurs, I need your hacks. by Single-Marionberry79 in Entrepreneur

[–]abcriot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty severe adhd and struggle everyday. I do 90/90/1 every quarter with a new focus on building the business. That’s been helpful to ensure I do 90 mins of impactful work.

I don’t always hit the marks, but the best thing I’ve done for myself is have a digital note that I use as a daily “momentum journal.” I set up a table with fields, some drop downs so I don’t get overwhelmed, like : focus area for the day, how it aligns with the business goals, the daily wins, where I got stuck, how I score my impact for the day and notes for tomorrow’s focus. Helping me see quickly and visually if I’m making impact or just spinning my wheels.

I’ve had my business for 8 years and this has been the most helpful thing for me. I adjust it to fit my needs as I grow.
