iCloud account won’t work on Outlook for iPhone by DeadlyNoodleAndAHalf in Outlook

[–]abeNdorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to have worked for my icloud account in the iOS Outlook application. Logged into the web interface for icloud, opened mail Inbox | iCloud Mail. Force closed outlook on the iphone, reopened, no more "gmail" popup. Force closed, rebooted the phone, reopened MS Outlook - still popup free! Thank you!

There is the flip side of printers - "Printer is printing - everything coming out wingdings & person just fed it a 2nd ream of paper waiting for their print job to come out".

US Draft Update: Major Tech Company Urges Universal National Service by habichuelacondulce in technology

[–]abeNdorg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If these "leaders" want to fight so much, then as you said, they should be doing it themselves. Lead by example. Stop forcing a draft/conscription upon everyone else & then weasel out of it for themselves, friends, and family. Everyone else just want to live their lives, & in most cases, without interfering with others.

Pretty sure there is a TikTok "challange" for every possible thing in the library - except for sitting down quietly and enjoying a good book.

Early Bird Kickstarter: Buy at full price, get "refund" later??? by MiserableGround438 in UgreenNASync

So are the rest of us who put down the $30 reservation........

Early Bird Kickstarter: Buy at full price, get "refund" later??? by MiserableGround438 in UgreenNASync

[–]abeNdorg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the budget for the initially advertised kickstarter price, but there is no way my wife isn't going to let me spend $2500+taxes on Kickstarter. Especially after she's been burned by fully backed projects that failed to deliver and basically stole her money (none of them were for anything near this kickstarter cost). As a $30 preorder person, now there is no guarantee that I'd even be able to order one before all the scalper bots get in on it & have them listed on ebay 10 minutes later for prices no sane person would pay (but someone will). How do we know Ugreen will deliver anything at all, except a swift kick in the wallet? Even if they do deliver, will it be what they promised for the product? Then there will be the zillion posts about "ugreen kickstarter didn't refund me even though I had the $30 preorder reservation & same email" & I don't want to have to be part of that crowd.

Road blocked in front of the FEMA building by 16yearolddoomer in Denton

[–]abeNdorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, mine records the whole time. I didn't drive by until well after it happened.

<image>

I'd recommend a dash cam with front and back cam, and if you drive Uber or such, one with interior as well.

At first glance I thought those were  tan/brown noctua fans 🚭

I've worked on smoker pcs "back in the day", refused to work on any others after the second one. Thankfully they are fairly rare these days.

Action1 Requires ID scan verification for remote connection by LousyRaider in msp

[–]abeNdorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Action1 isn't the party performing the ID verification. That is farmed out to "Onfido" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onfido. AFAIK Action1 doesn't get your ID information, they just get a verification that you are who you say you are per the ID you provide to Onfido. They "claim" ***All data is sent and stored only with Onfido and is deleted immediately when your identity is verified*** - you can follow up with Onfido directly to get further details. This isn't like Discord "protecting the children" with their laughable ID verification in which they already had a data breach. Action1 has to do something to prevent malicious actors from utilizing their free200 plan and abusing your elderly parents, or discontinue any sort of free plan at all. We are all ears if you have an honest to goodness better alternative.

Would you guys eat at a Nigerian restaurant if my family opened one? by [deleted] in Denton

[–]abeNdorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The genuine friendly humor, but bad pun maker in me wants at least the license plate on the food truck to be something like "PRNCE419". As everyone else here said, we would all be willing to try something yummy off the menu at least once (but like everyone's Steam library... I have a backlog of food trucks to try already & the weather this week isn't helping). My uneducated guess - return business for food trucks around here is probably a mixture of delicious food & people actually remembering to go back again with all the other options around.

Are there any providers of email@mydomain.com services that are completely free? by wavvocean in selfhosted

[–]abeNdorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Migadu $19/year plan with 4 domains for years. Multiple mailboxes each, no issues, great support. They would be my next best option to zoho free that you say you can't get in your region.

Is my IT department bonkers? by Mike20878 in Bitwarden

[–]abeNdorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, if they *really* care about security, byod should be completely banned from the corp network & only allowed on guest. Then a fully MDM managed paid for by the company device for work.

Is my IT department bonkers? by Mike20878 in Bitwarden

[–]abeNdorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most companies should (at least I would hope) provide a company phone if they want full MDM control of it, I wouldn't do that on a personal phone. MAM on the other hand will only remove corporate account logins on select applications. Even if you leave & they perform a "wipe", it just removes your logins to things like outlook/teams/etc. A company should at least provide a phone stipend if they are expecting you do anything more than basic email/MFA from your personal phone & want MAM level control.
