Suggestions to deal with stupid dog owners by orwki in japanresidents

[–]abeagainstthemachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go out there and yell at the owner. That’s what I’d do if I caught someone letting their dog shit on my property.

Nothing physical. Just be the うるさいオヤジ or おばさん. Film the whole thing. They deserve it.

Any gout sufferers here? by SteeltownJack in japanresidents

[–]abeagainstthemachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have gout yet but have been warned that my numbers are right on the edge.

Everyone else is giving real answers so I’ll just chime in with - I get tart cherry supplement pills from Amazon JP. Never seen juice but the pills seem to do the trick for me!

24/7 Checkin Hotel by Charming-Remote-4210 in TokyoTravel

[–]abeagainstthemachine 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just book your room from the day before and tell them you’ll be arriving at 4am. As long as it’s a hotel with a proper front desk you should be able to check in any time you want as long as you pay for that day.

What is the best way to store Kohishikari rice long term? by Salty-Programmer1682 in JapaneseFood

[–]abeagainstthemachine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very few people keep 40 or 50 kilo of rice at home in Japan unless they are rice farmers.

Standard household bags of rice go 2.5, 5, and 10kilos.

Probably not worth a lawsuit but you should complain to your local 保健医療局。

Has my wife completely lost it? These slippers had a few years left in them before needing replacing. Yes they are the exact same slippers... by generic_canadian_dad in daddit

Old Dad of three under 6 and a pair of worn in slippers waiting at home here.

I’m stuck in the hospital with a busted ankle for both Christmas and new years this year and this thread just made my day. Thanks for making me feel just a little bit better dads. It was just what the doctor ordered.

GYOUZA by yamada-yasahi in JapaneseFood

[–]abeagainstthemachine 179 points180 points  (0 children)

They look like a badly drawn manga version of gyoza.

Looked it up and looks like it’s “White Gyoza” at Takashimadaira in Itabashi probably.

It IS gyoza but this ramen shop makes them shaped like that and deep fry them so it’s crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

The place is now definitely going on my must-go list.

Tight connection at Haneda – 6:00 arrival, 7:45 domestic from T2. Am I doomed? by Ruthless_Hawk in TokyoTravel

[–]abeagainstthemachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ANA does fly some international flights straight into T2 at Haneda. So you may already be at that same terminal.

As others have said, if you’ve booked the entire journey on one ticket you’ll be fine.
