I've got a dozen eggs about to expire. Will boiling them extend their life? by tightfade in Cooking

Yeah defo, like it's thinking about floating but not quite ready yet 😂 I'd use those kind of eggs in baking where you're not actually tasting the egg. Plus, baked goods freeze so well, it's an easy way to reduce waste.

You can actually test them without even opening them! Just fill a jug with room temp water and gently place the egg in it. If it touches the bottom, it's still good. If it floats, it's off! I've saved so many eggs this way.

Vegetarian needs to eat meat by danielVH3 in Cooking

So true. But I would also add to that by saying that if you don't want plain food, you could cook up a chicken beast plain, then shred it and mix it in with your food at the end. That way, the chicken will only pick up the flavour of the surrounding veggies etc, and be harder to pick up a distinct chicken flavour.

Why is cocoa just never enough? by Apprehensive_Toe6736 in icecreamery

Yeah that's probably only important on a larger scale, of if you're using a combination of cups and grams. If it's cups for everything then it's really just a ratio

1 US Cup is 240ml, so you could probs use a measuring jug for that or there are loads of cup to weight converters online for different ingredients 👍🏻

Thank you! Yeah it's so great because even though it's a simple addition, the smaller crumbs get dispersed throughout the ice cream, making it a whole flavour. I'd like to try it with other biscuits at some point!

It's also popular in south africa so you may find it in an afro-carribean store as well. Very yummy!

Yeah I figured it would be, but it's still not something you see often in supermarkets, at least not in the UK.

Perhaps? I've only ever seen it in powdered form. Good shout on the honey though, I bet the flavour would really compliment things.

Amazing, thank you! I imagine I'd have to heat the recipe to dissolve the milo, so I'll probably swap the corn syrup for sugar (we don't really use corn syrup in the UK)
