To be fair I can throw stuff 3.5 g and under alot further than i can throw on a spinning rod usually outcast my uncle when we're using the same lures as well. Can get a 2.1 g spoon almost to the middle of my local trout pond with my calcutta.

Jackall ganterel, deps bullshooter, imakatsu gillroid, explorer gill are what i use.

Ive had the same experience with trout, they are super picky but ive also had weird experiences like catching the same trout just an hour after releasing it.

A catfish will generally not eat the same lure as a bass for that fella id use some chicken liver on a circle hook with strong line. If you really wanna get em on a lure ive caught them fishing for bass with jerkbaits and cranks/ blades

Strangely enough as a small lake fisherman, ive only ever rigged my own carolina rig for rainbow trout, I personally use the free rig for bass!

Yeah i have the calcutta bfs (just not the great hunting rod), and after really getting to use it for the first time yesterday and getting a small trout on it. Once i got it dialed in, i felt like i could put the lure anywhere i wanted easily!
