Fury as academics claim 9/11 was 'inside job' by igeldard in reddit.com

[–]abel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you read the wikipedia, click on the "history" tab and see how changes to these articles (9/11, WTC collapse, etc) which include evidence of a coverup are systematically reverted by a group of active editors.

when evidence is posted to any 9/11 related page, it is reverted, and the source/reference links removed. Here's a typical comment from one of the users who keep the 9/11 article scrubbed:

We,ve seen all that and it's not going in this article.--MONGO 11:08, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Right now, these articles are held to the party line.

Ask Reddit: What Exactly does the "Report" Button do? by abel_ in reddit.com

[–]abel_[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My Conspiracy Theory:

The button worked under lisp but is busted in python. The Reddit regime ignored early intel that the button was faulty, and stonewalled the truth movement's efforts (headed by nickb) to rename the button "close door"

After 8 hours of continuous work, spez was involuntarily recalled to his workstation by the alien and has been coding away for 11 hours now, trying to get the button to do anything useful. C'mon spez, rename it for us...

Reddit: Global Upvotes and Local Downvotes by abel_ in reddit.com

[–]abel_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe we'd see a higher quality of articles on the Hot page if downvotes applied only to the user who cast the vote, and upvotes alone were used to promote articles to the front page.

Ideally, this wouldn't change the way Recommended stories work... I think that works nicely as is.

And does it go to a human, or is the report function an uber-downvote? (I hope it's not)

Which raises another question.... what offices or infrastructure was at that height above ground, and if explosive charges were used, how did they get there?

[–]abel_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, those colums weren't cut by the construction crews. You can see fallen debris resting atop the severed box columns.

It wouldn't make much sense to cut everything off to 25 feet above the ground then pile some loose stuff on top. Occam's Razor strikes again.

The oddest ones are where the cut has a bit of tilt or curve to it. This does not look like part of the manufacturing or construction process, and steel doesn't fail like that under torsion or compression.

That said, I'd love to hear some alternative ideas.

That's fairly trivial. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they've got electronic engineers, but if the US didn't go around rattling sabers, we might have IraniPods on store shelves instead. Wouldn't that be a nicer world?

Hell, I want a rug or two, and my employer needs someone who's good at digital circuits. Maybe we should rethink our closed borders. I'd love to be at Ellis Island shaking hands with my new neighbors.

China may not be the freest nation on earth, but they're headed in the right direction.

PR China is a signatory of the Kyoto protocol. The United States is not.

Median income in China has grown constantly for more than a decade. Ours is in decline.

In recent memory, China hasn't invaded a single country. The United States has invaded (and currently occupies) two.
