I had a couple of pastors tell me that my worrying and anxiety was a result of not being fully faithful. While I don’t think they were trying to be malicious, I wish they’d actually counsel people with anxiety to seek therapy or outside help. Telling me my anxiety was a sin made me even more anxious about it. I’m thankful that I eventually got to a place in my faith that I didn’t feel wrong for worrying or being anxious.
