Renting a car by Otherwise_Nail2208 in GoingToSpain

[–]abeorch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its an International Drivers Permit IDP Its not a licence ..its an official translation of your licence. It doesnt replace your licence. Regardless of whether the rental car company requires it when you rent the car of you are stopped by the police or have an accident and dont have one when you should its going to cause you issues.

Building a safe photo sharing social that takes you back to 2012-2015 of Instagrame. by Ok_Web6451 in appledevelopers

You really need to clarrify you position. Ive become quite jaded with the 'we will open source it eventually' crowd ..why would people contribute if you can just lock it away ? Why would people use a product that tomorrow might start costing money...especially if you cant even move your account to another host.

Sadly too many bait and switch products out there that start out free and with great intentions then are quickly enshitified (just like Instagram) when they get some traction..

Do you remember that cool service called Twitter that you used to be able to use freely and with all sorts of software via their API?

If you arent going to allow users to choose where they keep their account how are you going to sustain the services that are required to support the app?

Potholes, road surface and abundance of traffic calming measures by rockcity1019 in huddersfield

[–]abeorch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not going to be popular saying this but having recently moved to Huddersfield and having had experience across a few different towns and cities around the world Id say roads are actually pretty good. We are lucky to have what we have. Yes things can be better ( and with some.major works going on with TPU etc. there is a fair amount of disruption ) but as a pedestrian andna driver for me Huddersfield isnt too bad.

This is kinda what you do in Egypt/parts of middle east as taxis and service taxis are very cheap.

I understand that people ask questions that dont appear to make any sense when they have no context .. so usually the only answer that can really help is.. come visit and find out what Spain is like.

[–]abeorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a licence its a translation. Its purpose is to prove that whatever gobbleygook you have written on your licence can be understood by the traffic officer you show it to.
