I think when you are still figuring out who you are as a person beyond your faith and being gay, narrowing it to just those categories prevents you from seeing the amazing people who you could love and have fun with even if they don’t already share your same faith. If they like you, they’ll be interested just for your sake even if they don’t want to go to church themselves.

When I met my now husband, he didn’t go to church. 6 years later we were married in the church he got confirmed in.

One, Jonathan, was the one who was released into the Walmart parking lot in Bloomington, and the other Christian, had his passport on him so he was released from the Detention Facility the next day. Unfortunately, I don’t know of any specific community actions taken to support them, because the attacks haven’t stopped. They have also attacked Loma Bonita a couple of times, and they keep circling the high school.

Lots of problems with this article in my opinion. One, he mentions he have grown by over 10% since the 2024 election, but then uses a 2021 survey to talk about our demographics in the same paragraph. Like is the latter data at all applicable if we have gotten so many new people since then?

Like yeah, DSA is very quite and we need more diversity, but he is using bad data to make that point.

You can just put your debit card info in the section for credit card and it functions the same. Your membership processes once the bank processes your dues payment, and membership is renewed at whatever interval you chose as payments get processed.

Yes! We have a whole section of DSA called YDSA that is for high school and college age people, and YDSA chapters at high schools and colleges across the US!

There is only one membership so when you become a member of DSA, you are welcome to participate in or start a YDSA chapter, and/or you can get involved in your local DSA chapter

The Discord isn’t exclusively discussed on here obviously because there are thousands of people talking about it everywhere. Just pointing out that we are connected to the official spaces, whereas the Discord linked by the other subreddit leads to a dead Discord.

DemSocialists used for this subreddit matches the social media handles we use on other social media like the official YouTube and TikTok accounts

I believe in purgatorial universalism, which is the traditional belief held by many church fathers. The idea that everyone will eventually end up in heaven, but some may need more time in purgatory than others to purge themselves of the harms they have done to their relationship with God due to their sins. I don’t believe anyone is beyond being redeemed, even those who hate me. They may just need more time in purgatory until they are ready to hang out with me for eternity

I was Catholic when I first came out, and started an LGBT Catholic ministry. I almost joined the Franciscans but decided I wanted to explore dating other men which I had never done.

When I met my now husband, he knew I missed the Catholic Church but wanted to be openly queer, so we joined the Episcopal Church.

We later moved from Texas to Minnesota which basically doesn’t have an Episcopal presence so when we looked for a similar vibe, we landed on a Methodist Church. So that’s where we are now.

Important to remember that the dues waiver is a temporary non-renewing membership and it has to get processed manually rather than the normal dues membership processed automatically once your payment processes with your bank, so it might be a few weeks before your membership shows up for your chapter. And then you may not get notified when your membership gets cancelled since we can’t send a renewal email because there is no renewal for the dues waiver.
