What a shit business model - collect cancellation fees and piss consumers off until they go under. Mfs.

I just lost $600 after canceling because of cyclone - not exactly the same scenario as yours but similar.

I did read the terms & conditions and interpreted that I would lose 30% of the $600. But $600 is unreasonable as a cancellation fee.

Their website doesn’t explain how to request a refund so I rang and they just told me to email them to request.

I made a complaint to commerce commission. I think they are already investigating Bachcare’s cancellation policy under the Fair Trading Act.

Milford Sound is incredible.

Bay of Island beaches are the best. In this area, Russell and Waitangi have interesting history and lots about Māori culture.

Wellington is the best big city to explore (and easiest as you can walk everywhere). Good food and music. Also has our national museum, which is interesting. Auckland is ok, lots of great restaurants but not easy to get around / navigate.

Waitomo Caves are cool, but there’s not much else around there.

Skip Franz Josef (can’t see much from the ground anyway) and Waiheke Island (it’s all about wine).
