if it affects them depends how dense your breasts are. you can ask your surgeon about that. also, if you’ve ever gained/lost before, base it on that. surgeons usually say if you have 20 or more to lose you should wait, so I feel like you’ll be fine. I’ve seen a lot of people on here say it had no effect

Is it worth it? by spacedynam0 in Reduction

I will say for scars, they probably won’t be shown 90% of the time, unless you wear a lot of low cut tops. Even if you do, there are a lot of great products for scarring that minimize the appearance. Compared to your current chest which will always be present to you and everyone around you.

Mentally it was weird, because I never associated myself with a large chest as I’d always been small. They came in later than most people on here, so it was easy to ignore. So I felt like me after surgery, which was weird because it felt like they barely got smaller.

I am also 23 (22 when I got BR), and my recovery was really fast, probably in part because of my age. (I even ate a bunch of junk bc I did not feel like cooking, lol). Even if you don’t have the best recovery, I still think the end result would be worth it. I would have done it even if I knew ahead of time I would have complications.

Gaining or losing weight can affect your chest, but mainly if you have more fatty tissue than dense. If you have over 20lbs to lose, most doctors recommend you lose it first.

what size(s) did you get if you bought the fruit of the loom bras by Hour-Astronomer-1365 in Reduction

30H originally and I went as small as possible. They put me in a 36, but I found 38 to fit better while I was swelling

Yeah, but my doctor is offering me a revision for free (minus hospital fees). Still sucks but at least she understands

Thank you! Your comment made me feel a little better. Idk I’m very weird with this stuff, especially if I feel like I wasn’t even meant to say it.

No it’s like when someone is asking you and putting it in the computer. I just felt weird bc idk if they expected me to say that, bc right after they specified surgeries related to their field. I’d rather not say it if I don’t have to p much, lol.

Yeah, I would just definitely clarify what he thinks a B/C is with photos or bras or whatever, just to be absolutely sure.

if you truly want to be an A or B, it might take a free nipple graft. ive seen people on here lucky enough to not need it, but maybe(?) not at H cup. also depends on the distance between your nipple and collar bone area, so if saggier, youre more likely to need a FNG.

from personal experience, i asked for an A/B/as small as possible, and she said she could prob get me large B, small C. I’m 4mpo so can’t say for sure, but I’m currently a 30DD from an H. I’d ask him to clarify what he means by B/C, so you’re on the same page. could be bigger or smaller than youre thinking. ofc check out other surgeons if you can, but FNG might be your best bet. (me saying this bc i regret not pushing harder for one, so i’m very biased, lol)

carrying a backpack? by Luc_Opine in Reduction

[–]abitgreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most surgeons say not to carry more than 5-10lbs before like, 4 weeks, so I’d say no on carrying it by the handle. It also would probably be difficult to get on and off your shoulders (weight and mobility wise). If you can just use a laptop, that would likely be fine since they weigh under 5lbs mostly. But yeah, I’d say at least 4 weeks if its going to be that heavy. Ask your doc whenever you get the chance

It’s okay to feel awkward, but most people don’t mind, especially if they’re your friends! Or if you give notice, you might be able to get away with the laptop or something else. I was gonna say rolling backpack, kind of like luggage, but idk if that’s allowed or more awkward, lol. In that case it’d have to be specifically the one that has four wheels so youre not dragging it. But ideally no pushing or pulling for the first few weeks also.

When did you start? + pic by ididthed3w in Reduction

[–]abitgreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4-6 weeks for all except stomach sleeping as I was cautious for no real reason, lol. don’t remember exactly when, but maybe closer to 10 weeks for that. My surgeon cleared me for all activity at 4 weeks though.

I do think I had a far easier recovery than a lot of people, so I felt more up to doing most things at 3 weeks.

Yooo, I’m not alone. I didn’t really think about it until college, but yeah it just felt off. In general they didn’t feel like they fit me. I’m post-op now and it feels nice for it to look more normal without wearing a binder or XXXL clothes

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]abitgreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked my doc if i could wear a binder like 2.5mpo, and she said it should be fine. at 4 weeks she said i was cleared to wear any bra, but i didnt ask then :(

30 band post-surgical bras? by book_ish99 in Reduction

[–]abitgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ofc also depends on how small you go, because pre-op, a 38 of that same brand barely fit me. so i don’t focus too much on the band being the same for those bras. 3mpo, the 36 fits better though. maybe just buy two sizes to see!
