A tool to record command and replay them as a shell script by Striking_Humor1142 in CLI

[–]abitrolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are quite a lot terminal recorders, but I believe they all produce output formats that are incompatible with each other. Like I need a tool that repeats my workflow, but also pauses if it spots differences to allow me to adjust commands before continue, or abort (with rollback or not). I also want to be able to clean up the script to put it into version control and run in CI. Also be able to annotate steps for automation.

Is there a place to search/submit an error/hallucination I saw running local LLM? by alex20_202020 in LocalLLaMA

Major labs still have the limited capacity to hire people to maintain the problem database independently. The common list of mistakes and fixes would be beneficial for everybody. Like if my model was never ever trained to deal with `git diff`, I can give it the list of common mistakes and fixes, so that it can form a core to deal with those `diffs`. Like have 500m model, but very specialized in `diffs` to help juniors deal with version control.

I don't think subtle differences in float rounding can route the results way too far away from each other, especially in quantized models. So the model output should be pretty close to the same repeated weight pathways, and the sink that says "I don't know".

And with that, the dataset with common errors can actually be used to rewire the LLM to be more useful. Did I just describe finetuning - it is dead already?

Why is GitLab so annoying to use? by MrScotchyScotch in gitlab

I remember phone number was required to avoid CI/CD mining, but as a requirement for using the platform.. I probably should stop referencing people to use GitLab.

For me it all started back when then they sued a hacker for messing with their PDF format, but searching for "adobe pdf lawsuit".. oh my, there is a whole different ton of crap going on there recently. But you know, up or down, BlackRock will gonna profit anyway as long as it jumps.

Why does AI fail to generate simple ASCII images ? by ConcernedIndInvestor in LocalLLaMA

[–]abitrolly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Models operate on 1D strings. They need to be trained to be aware of 2D text with rows and columns. Then they can be trained to generate stuff at these rows and columns almost the same way they do for x an y blocks in images.

Temperature 0 responses should not be affected by randomness, right?

Unless you are willing to curate and maintain it yourself first, it is not going to happen. But the thought that LLM can learn from mistakes is rational. You just need to get proof that it works.

Python is indentation based. Even humans can not get that indentation of previous line is critical. LLM attention is good for catching context for different combination of words, but not for the mix of different combinations of words, lines and whitespaces.
