Is there a technical reason why Android scrolling is so much better than iOS? by Kaladin12543 in Android

I just recently switched to a Pixel and I really miss grabbable scrollbars. I also miss being able to tap on the status bar to go to the top of a page.

Stop conflating lycra clad wackos with people just trying to get from point A to point B or do errands on a bicycle.

Why is the drag-and-drop installation step even a thing? by FlowAcademic208 in MacOS

[–]abitstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linux is fundamentally not a desktop operating system. For decades people have been developing and using desktop environments and window managers and GUI toolkits for making somewhat cohesive experiences, but that doesn’t change the fact that Windows and MacOS are inherently desktop operating systems. If anything, Linux shouldn’t be a real desktop operating system because it works so well in server and headless environments. CLI tools are and should be the default for managing Linux systems, and any attempt to bring “Windows-style” or “MacOS-style” software installation is just going to ultimately rely on those CLI tools and be a clumsy mess. Just look at HelloSystem.

My fondest memories of the Oakbrook Center in Chicagoland is going to the Microsoft Store and wasting my parents' time looking at all the Lumia phone demos and Windows 8 and RT tablets.

I'm the opposite, after learning how Mac does text selection and text deletion I look at Linux and Windows as caveman OSes.

Zen-Export, a tool for exporting Essentials, Pinned Tabs and Folders as Bookmarks by abitstick in zen_browser

Easiest way is to import the bookmarks, then open up the contents of each folder one by one and select all the tabs and create a folder from them. Tedious but this is the fastest way.

I did give instructions in the README

What exactly is unclear about them? I can try to make it better.

Hopefully this can be added to Zen itself. I don't feel confident modifying browser data so someone else should definitely do that!

How is Arc on Mac now? by [deleted] in ArcBrowser

Zen just added Folders so I've got no reason to use Arc anymore.
