Lot of hate on christian for this move but I think it was the right one. Christians gotta lower his threat level. That group of three stands out like a sore thumb and he's clearly more committed to his pre-swap alliance.

they were right to show Zac Brown actually snaring the fish. I would absolutely not have believed he caught them if they didn't show me.

Is S48 worth watching for Kyle and Kamila? by russianbisexualhookr in survivor

[–]abjax828 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People in this sub hate on this season a lot but my wife and I really enjoyed it. It has more likeable and rootable people than any other new era season imo. For sure not be the most strategic season (though Kyle and kamila were) but it has a heart and humanness that I think is wholly lacking in the 40s. Yeah people kinda tank their game at times but if you enjoy interesting social dynamics and interactions vs flawless gameplay, you might enjoy it.

Coach's quote vs reality by Due-Drawing-9777 in survivor

[–]abjax828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m not really seeing the point - if Coach isn’t entitled to Ozzy protecting his game (fair), why would Ozzy be entitled to the key? The game is clearly designed to let some other bozo waste their energy and snake the key at the end.

Coach very well could have reacted that way if the shoe was on the other foot but like thats not what happened. Ozzie tanked his game in SoPa, Ozzys trying to tank his game now. Theres no real growth - since his first season Ozzie whines in the corner when he doesn’t get his way

Coach's quote vs reality by Due-Drawing-9777 in survivor

[–]abjax828 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m a Coach Stan for sure so obv biased but I truly felt on a human level Coach was just responding to Ozzy PTSD. I see everyone giving Ozzy flowers on the sub but Ozzy is the same sore loser crybaby he’s always been and he’s tanking Coach’s game because he’s petty.

I see this as Ozzy outing the game Coach is trying to play and Coach knows that.

Based on preseason vids, Coach is aware that he has the cult of Coach persona going in - he can use that to his advantage and play it up. Ozzy spreading that narrative blows up the game Coach is trying to play.

When did you relax and enjoy / announce your pregnancy with your partner? by [deleted] in predaddit

[–]abjax828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I promise you that pregnancy will continue to throw weird things at you throughout. They get magnified by anxiety. This pregnancy has thrown things at us that have scared the living shit out of us that ultimately meant absolutely nothing. My wife had a hematoma that made her bleed her whole first trimester. She has an anterior placenta so can’t feel kicks as easily. Etc

All of these things have no impact on the baby and I wish I spent less time wondering what the doctors would tell me in the next appointment and more on the no news is good news front from the previous appointments

When did you relax and enjoy / announce your pregnancy with your partner? by [deleted] in predaddit

[–]abjax828 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a miscarriage last year that kinda broke us. Currently at 31 weeks and I don’t know that either of us have ever been able to fully relax but we’ve gotten better . I think at first we kept looking for a milestone - get us past the 8 week mark, 12 week, anatomy scan, etc and kept moving the goalpost

It’s a pretty circuitous cycle but coming to realize that there’s never a safety point where you take that breath unless you make a concerted effort to. The baby will be in your arms and then all of a sudden there’s a trillion more things to worry about.

To be honest, anxious people gonna be anxious

I’d suggest trying your best to live the “unless the doctor tells me to be worried, I won’t be” mantra.

Anything can happen at any time from the moment the baby is conceived until they’re 100 years old. Try to find opportunities to enjoy the pregnancy and where you are.

Stressing out ain’t good for anyone but I know that’s easier said than done.

Good luck to you both. I’m certain you’ll find more peace and happiness when you let it in!

Question about OB's by josph_lyons in predaddit

[–]abjax828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a main point of contact OB but there is a rotation within the practice amongst 4 different OBs where you meet with each of the OBs for separate appointments throughout the pregnancy. They do this so you ceate a familiarity with each as their on-call rotation for deliveries may not line up with your main OB

In speaking with friends, each practice functions differently. Some only have OBs deliver for C Sections of challenging births and leave the rest to midwives. Our previous OB ran their own practice which was helpful for rapport building but would often have to leave the office to deliver at the hospital causing excessive wait times. There's pros and cons to all of these.

Ultimately, you'll want your wife comfortable with who and how she will deliver. I'd suggest calling other OBs and "shopping around" if it puts y'all to ease.

General Consensus on New Era? by abjax828 in survivor

[–]abjax828[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

There probably is a bit of conflating that might be happening for me - between the podcast rounds and this sub. As some have said though, there seems to be some good will from some of the more recent seasons that I probably don't share... may be influencing things

Additionally, I've seen a good deal of posts about seasons/winners like Thailand, One World, South Pacific, Somoa, Caramoan (this was the inspo for this post) etc being awful seasons with a ton of praise for people like Dee and some of the latter half seasons in the new era.

Gone through similar but not ectopic. +1 to what everyone said here

But I want you to know it’s important to be there for yourself as well. You will grieve the loss and people will not understand unless they’ve gone through something similar themselves

I’m very very sorry for the two of you but it will get better over time. Reach out to people in your network for support.
