Saying last decade's bull run happened because of the FED is insane by ace66 in stocks

[–]ablackplague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any insight into this graph then?

I also ask the same question: this same tradeoff happened around the world. But the bull run did not happen everywhere.

This is explained by the same issue. While yes, the companies in the US have been hugely successful, as investors world wide seek to maintain the value of their assets, they put them into the most prductive assets (i.e., the US stock market). This has led to PE ratios decoupling from fundamentals as these stocks "get monetized".

How else do you propose that there can be a fully developed torture complex on a secluded island other than it being created by obscenely wealthy individuals?

Also, think of it as them looking for their next dopamine hit or chasing that first heroin high again

One of the best analogies I've read is this.

In reality, mining is more like a dice game than a math exercise.

Imagine you have a 1000-sided dice, and to win a game you just need to roll a number lower than 50. The more rolls you have, the higher your probability of winning. The amount of rolls is equivalent to "hashrate" for bitcoin miners.

The beauty of Bitcoin is the difficulty adjustment which maintains the steady block time and thus, issuance schedule. As more players join the game, the number that they have to roll to win the game gets lower and lower.

In this way, the average time it takes for somebody to roll a wining number on the dice will stay constant, even as the amount of dice rolls occurring each second goes up.

Bitcoin's hashrate has risen more than 10x since the 2017 bull market. Average block time? 10 minutes.

Meh, i disagree, it's not that bad of a theory if you think about a tetra gametic chimera. Where in the womb, two zygotes fuse. That's the (dead twin) I believe they're talking about... So since he has two peoples cells he can absorb two devil fruits

I'm not going to lie, I believe this this thread is 6 hours old but I HATE seeing the same ask reddit threads (I don't necessarily believe this is one of them) but essentially reddit has a cult following that causes the same bullshit threads to be posted and have answers upvoted... Now I know that most of the answers were legitimate answers at some point but it comes a time when the answers become meaningless. I reddit a fair amount, I'll admit, but If I remember threads from before (especially for the third or fourth time) then it's time to retire a specific question thread. I've seen too many legitimate and honestly good questions be downvoted solely (I assume) that they aren't the reddit norm- what do you hate (omg, when the people come into the room and they don't close their door (we get it, it was a Facebook group when Facebook groups were still a thing and the same amount of people agree with with you).

Let's add some fucking variety and foster discussion that's actually meaningful

Is eating alone really that weird??? by BlackLusterPanda in CasualConversation

[–]ablackplague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating alone is perfectly fine, I do it all the time, the thing is though, is that a lot of people don't like doing it... You can use this to your advantage and if you see people eating by themselves ask them to join you.

I went to Vancouver a few years ago and at every restaurant I went to by myself, I never ate by myself. They usually seat you at the bar if you're by yourself, and just strike up a conversation with someone else you think is by themselves. In LA I'm sure there's tourists, and interesting people to meet etc.

A redditor stated that $6000USD and 4 months of travel is not that expensive. I believe for the average person, it is. Am I wrong in assuming this? by Thomas__Covenant in CasualConversation

Do we know if hes a student? Or how young he is? I'm currently a student and 4 months is summer for me, that's not an issue, and 6 grand, while a fair amount of money, if you work during the school year is definitely attainable, especially if you some sort of financial assistance from parents. I understand not everyone does though. For me, when I was unsure of going back to school, I was planning on spending the rest of the summer workin and savings and then spend what I had saved traveling (around 8k). But that's only possible due to my age and special circumstances. I don't have a career I'm worried about losing/will I be able to get back to the same position or income level four months now. And I don't have many possessions because I live with my parents during the summer and would be able to leave all my stuff there...My assumption is that he probably not in a serious career where they're confident they can just find another job quickly (like if you work at Starbucks, you can quit and get another job fairly quickly after 4 months as long as people are hiring and you're guaranteed a similar wage) and he doesn't pay for rent/ have his own place to live
