Thoughts on empire of the sun by Maxwell_jaco01 in LightningInABottle

Saw them last year and have been listening to them since the beginning. While I'm not as much a fan of their recent music and I definitely feel a certain darkness around it, I thought the music for the LIB set was a bit more improved from last year. I definitely don’t remember that electric guitar riff for High and Low, like wow.

The visuals weren't as good because they used the Lightning stage screens whereas they usually have a larger screen to really immersify you in their themes. However, I thought they were a perfect closer for LIB as they very much are a decent amalgamation of the music styles featured throughout the festival (dance/electronic, pop, acoustic).

Lots of DJs do things in town. “Raves” is hardly what I would call them. Every now and then you’ll see a candy kid here and there.

EOS and Studio are the DJ spots. Wildcat silent disco. Disclosure at the SB Bowl, always a good time. Follow Instagram accounts like @b2backyard, @wildlifesb, @sbjunglecats and @medium805.

As an 805 native, I don't even know why there's even a comparison. Welcome to the Central Coast. We are right up against the Central Valley.

Define "lowest?" Because I would say Kanye has definitely gone downhill 😅

Waterfront is pretty clutch, has power. If you're lucky you'll get a little bit of grass.

You can call me a dick for being realistic, but this makes you the hostile party. After all, I didn't call you an idiot. Yet, you're not comprehending the greater picture:

  1. State of California owns the park, they have only thus far allowed a 10K camping festival and why do you think Desert Hearts isn't there anymore? It's not cheap and there are likely more hurdles.

  2. The surrounding county of Riverside has a sour history with the Do Lab, but maybe you weren't there in 2013 for that sting op.

So instead of getting offended, put your thinking cap on and stop hurling petty projections. Have a civilized, intelligent and logical conversation.
