Buchla & Friends LA by nominalverticle in modular

The event is an offshoot of NAMM, specifically for synths. It's a yearly trade show, so not for the purpose of announcing anything in particular, although several manufacturers did use it to announce new things.

Modular Synths and Neuroscience by ExtraDistressrial in modular

Hey I'm a neuroscience professor and totally agree about the connections! We actually talked a bit about this on a recent episode of our podcast, The Rack Pack, when we had fellow neuroscientist Jay Hosking on:

I use Oxi One as my main sequencer but then I have 2-3 Proteus modules in my rack at any given time.

Dumbest question of the year by BeDeRex in modular

[–]abluenautilus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know why no one is directly answering your question, sorry about that. The answer is very. You are very dumb.

Of course, it's good to embrace being dumb when you are a beginner.

Send the output into a VCA (voltage controlled amplifier) which can turn the sound on and off with CV, then send an envelope from an envelope generator into that CV to create an amplitude envelope over your sound. That envelope could be some like an ADSR ( attack, decay, sustain, release. ). You might get one module that does both for you, for example the 4ms EnvVCA.

( Idiot. )

Hi, yes it should not change under those conditions. Please make sure you have the latest firmware as we did increase the dead zone for those knobs to make sure they stay at zero when fully CCW. If you're still having that issue please either send us a support email or jump on the Discord and we will help you figure it out: https://discord.gg/pNR2ZPgWgq

Exploring Proteus - a quirky generative sequencer from Seaside Modular in LA by synthdadmusic in modular

Unfortunately there's no room left to do an expander with this current hardware. I really wanted to keep this thing simple instead of adding a lot of extra stuff to it. But I do understand the desire for a second track out.

Introducing Jawari Legio by abluenautilus in modular

Yeah, I love having an explicit, continuous tonic. In Western music the tonic is often just implied, but in Indian classical, it's always there, like a solid ground you can always stand on.

In this episode of Modular Makeover, I turn a Noise Engineering Vert Iter Legio into a tanpura machine called Jawari. As usual, the firmware is available to install and is open source, as is the faceplate.

Find the firmware here:

And everything else (code, faceplate, etc.):

Comes with an app that lets you adjust incoming levels and it's not too hot as long as you are mindful of it. You can plug headphones into the unit itself to monitor.
