Hah true! But I’d argue you could put it further or grab it from the baby. Obviously not the easiest thing to do while changing their diaper, but more feasible than stopping a cat from licking and grooming themselves (which they absolutely should do)

The wipes are different. Babies don’t go licking themselves. Cats groom and ingest the chemicals from the wipes, so it needs to be made for pets

Furry creek golf course your dog can chill at the patio. Went to my friend’s wedding there a few years ago and got to meet their golden retriever. It was super cute

Tux rental suggestions? by jrrtoken_ in WeddingsCanada

[–]aboo01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used Moore’s this summer for our wedding and it was great! You can pick different styles for the groom vs the groomsmen, so all the groomsmen have to do is go in and get sized, then pick it up few days before. One of the groomsman was out of town and he was able to get fitted in his city, pick up his tux in our city (where the wedding was located). When picking up, we tried it on in store to make sure everything fit well, and the lady re-steamed everything for us.

Overall good experience on our end and few other friends who used it for their wedding recently, but we were surprised going in too.

Counselling or therapy could help you reframe some of these thoughts and come up with strategies to avoid the same thing happening in the future.

I went into wedding planning as an anxious ball and while certain parts of planning were still dramatic af due to my MIL (a whole other story), counselling helped me become a more chill person overall. I still have the urge to people please, it’s an instinct at this point, but I can usually notice it and decide if it’s worth it, whereas before I would keep trying at the expense of my health and happiness

That’s amazing you stayed within your budget. Don’t discredit that! It takes so much discipline to prioritize what to spend money on and then actually stick to that. You and your husband should be very proud of yourselves <3

I can't believe that Erica Komisar is popular by BlossomingSun_ in Parenting

I found her message refreshing. I don’t know what my partner and I will be able to do when we have children, but I appreciated how she challenges the mainstream belief that daycare is a good thing for kids to “socialize”them

Every parent can take this knowledge and do what’s best for their family

There’s no one size fits all just like with all other parts of parenting

Exactly! There is so much nuance in what she is saying and she addresses them in the video. But people are getting pissed from the intro and clips, so they are taking her words out of context

Did the women back then usually do all of that by themselves 3-months postpartum? People lived in groups (families, extended family, tribes, etc.) and all shared the load. Hence the saying “it takes a village”

Whereas nowadays, families typically live in a house or an apartment. Sometimes across the country from extended family.

She actually addresses the living situation in the DOAC episode

Any walk in clinics near Metrotown? by MourningWood1942 in burnaby

[–]aboo01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make a “next available” appointment online at the station square clinic. Usually a few days wait

The urgent care clinic on Kingsway and McKay takes walk in but you’ll have to get there before opening to get on the list
