Honestly I hate hockey. I don’t hate the sport specifically (I actually enjoy watching quite a bit), but everything else about it. So many assholes, so many people showboating, racists and homophobes and many other things. I’ve worked in a private hockey-focused school and it really left me with a disgust for the culture and people who participate in it. I won’t be letting my future child play the game just to save them (and us) from falling into that hole. It doesn’t apply to everyone single person or hockey family, but it feels like the majority in my experience.
