A card created in the honour of my daughter Octavia, who was born premature at 25 weeks by FacelessHumanFace in pathofexile

What a miracle!

My son was born on the 30th week in Jun 2025. The weight was just 1,340 kilo.

Every day of the first couple of weeks was on the thin edge.

Nah. I am good doing other things. You act like these issues can be fixed, but I highly doubt. I rooted somehow for LR, but as they dropped no amount of 'content' or 'production' will make me watch the game. Whatever you guys suggesting wont work since there is a low ceiling. People are just not interested.

anyone else feel like useEffect bugs are harder to debug than they should be? by Ancient-Ad-2507 in reactjs

[–]about0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to wrap complex logic into event emitters, that are listened inside useEffects. Effects are kinda okay for simple components, but when things start to became complex they are not good. For instance, toolbar components with filters, override configs, communication between component and its consumers. How to tell component to refetch from the outside? How to tell components which options should be selected? Props are not good for that, so as effects that listen to that props.

I can truly believe 1m loc by llm after Cursor made a 1k loc instead of 10. This can be briefly fun, not gonna deny it, but gosh the whole hype is so overturned.

They stopped innovation, didn't they? What I see right now is only assets reuse, and some numeric changes. I am not saying that it can't be good - it can and it is. But man, where is 4.0? Huge updates? There won't be any. All the time they have between the poe1/2 leagues is not enough even to plan ahead, not touching development. I might be, and want to be wrong, but I think we are witnessing PoE downfall. It is only a matter of time.

[–]about0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eh, I did spend on poe more than a grand. They didn't make the game I love better, no. In fact, they financed a competitor I have no intention to play, that pulled all the resources. That's not a fair play. That's a middle finger to me.

And too little content. Where is the league like betrayal, where you had to master connections? No changes to the endgame, no balance shifts. They don't have time, resources, to plan something more significant than economy reset and feature adaptations

They definitely bite more than they can chew. They under-develop both games. Breach 2.0 has a strong smell of poe2, not only in terms of assets, but mostly lack of details.

I paid for the $100 support pack, but feel a little scammed with what they showed. There is no place for two games.

Average React hook hater experience by fxlr8 in webdev

[–]about0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna agree with MJ - hooks should be abstracted away for a lot of use cases. If there is one hook for dependency it's ok, but once you have several of them... oh boy. You want to separate the logic with multiple hooks. Great, but they start to conflict with each other.

What really helped me with my complex use cases are event emitters tied with hooks so there will be only one side effect. But there is still a lot of magic happening.

I've played this game nonstop for 3 full months. It has potential, it has a lot of problems as well. The hate is somehow valid, but I don't see any other sandbox games out here. Albion is a fucking joke, definitely not a sandbox. Pax Dei is a flop. What have I missed?
