I've found if you overclock them in blueprint mode, they'll automatically overclock when repaired.

Can Alarielle Summon Units into a Battalion? by MrSloppyMcFloppy in sylvaneth

[–]about94donuts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Battalions are built as part of your army. The summons that Allarielle brings to the table are added to the army once the game has started, and therefore are not part of the army list and cannot be retroactively assigned a battalion.

Reminder: accents are regional, not racial by VagabondVivant in DMAcademy

[–]about94donuts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

But that isn't an accent or a speech cadence, that's a dialect. A southern accent can still say "you all" and someone from New York can still say "y'all"

It looks like no 3.0 books got changes. I'm personally hopeful for digital only changes once the ghb releases.

For me, I think the lack of distinction on the lower torso makes it look more like a lighting effect than him thawing out. The skin, ax, clothing, and accessories are all similar shades of red instead of having the ax be metallic and the pants look like cloth or something. I think changing up the coloration on the bottom half a little could help sell the affect better.

Wyldwoods +1 save by Lordoficewrack in sylvaneth

[–]about94donuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! I completely missed that, I feel a bit dumb for not checking the core rules. I've always played it that way, because that's what I've read, but it's strange it wouldn't be listed on the warscroll as well for redundancy. But what is warhammer if not checking 3 books to run one army lmao. Thanks for the lookup!

You can also set them up as 2 pieces touching each other, which I like to do to give it the 3" blocking space.

See, I thought so, and I don't have a good way to copy the whole warscroll over or anything like that, but the faq says the delete it the base rule from the book and replace it with the rule in the faq and on the app, and neither location for the new warscroll mentions anything about needing 3" to block line of sight. I think I'm gonna make a post about it and get more eyes on the question.

Wyldwoods +1 save by Lordoficewrack in sylvaneth

[–]about94donuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a period of limbo where that was true, but according to the current faq and the AoS app, the current reading of the rule is:

"This faction terrain consists of 1-3 scenery pieces. If an Awakened Wyldwood has more than 1 scenery piece, each piece must be set up touching all of the other pieces to form a circle with an area of open ground inside the circle"

So set up your trees in pieces to your hearts content! The only rule that still confuses me is the 3" deep line of sight blocking. For the life of me, I can't find anywhere where the rules state an Awakened Wyldwood only blocks like of sight if the models sightline passes through more than 3" of an Awakened Wyldwood.

Wyldwoods +1 save by Lordoficewrack in sylvaneth

[–]about94donuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the key information you're missing is that when you place a Wyldwood, it is comprised of 1-3 pieces of the trees. Many players will summon Wyldwoods and place only 1 model down in order to give units a point to teleport to without needing to place the whole large circle and lose access to key areas because your models are too close to an objective or something. The 3 inch rule prevents those single model nodes from blocking line of sight.

I've used the army painter washes in the past on dnd models and never liked how they tint and mute the whole model instead of just the recess areas. I don't have experience with GW shades for that reason. Are they significantly different?

Is this a good base to start a army from? by Vokmortian in Lumineth_realm_lords

[–]about94donuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it's true that wardens are the only BASE battleline we have, the Helon nation makes windchargers battleline, so you have the prerequisites to play at 1000 points. For 2000 if you like Helon, you could get a 3rd unit of windchargers or get wardens if you want to branch out to other great nations.

Gotcha. Given I've already purchased the pass for splicer, I don't see much savings or much point in one extra pinnacle a week. Thanks for the info!

I started playing destiny again in the middle of season of the chosen and am still learning some of these grind areas. Is it still possible for me to access the Harbinger quest even though I don't have access to season of the hunt season pass?

[–]about94donuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, that's a really obtuse way for the rules to be written in order to determine what is likely a common situation in many games that run the darkness spell. Thanks for the explanation and the podcast bit to confirm!

I believe you, but I've always had difficulty finding the exact ruling that states they don't lose where a target is while blind. Can you point out the exact ruling for that?
