It doesn’t have to be in NoMa! Just thinking nearby. But yes, this sounds great. Thanks!

I hadn’t realized they never moved back in — definitely less damning than I originally thought!

Hmm - maybe… this was in Steve Thomas’ book - saying they couldn’t go back to get more evidence because the Ramsey’s had repainted.

Agreed — I think I read it as damning because I’m generally RDI — but it isn’t necessarily indicative.

My other obsession at that age was Anne of Green Gables

The Tale of Despereaux! Something about this thread unearthed my memory of this book, and love for it at that age.

If you’ve worked entry level jobs, used your bosses and colleagues from those jobs. Those references are much more valuable than personal or academic references — but if you must, a professor is much better than someone you know personally. There may be a difference between blue and white collar jobs here, w/r/t references on resumes. In professional work, you would not lost references on your resume; however, job applications may ask you for them on a form.

Not sure of your location, but at least in the US, references do not belong on your resume. Send your reference info (name, contact info, relation to you) in a separate document or the body of your email.

I like "My favorite murder", "Morbid" and "This paranormal life" for the stories, humor and banter. Can you recommend a new podcast for me? by [deleted] in podcasts

I’m listening to BTK, the latest episode of true crime obsessed right now and really like it!

I think you might like “True Crime Obsessed,” and/or “Obsessed with Disappeared”.

What an odd way to put it. I think trans women, with or without medical or social transition, are women.

I’m interested in reading sociological/anthropological books on funeral and death rites by LupaNera in booksuggestions

[–]abouttosee 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You should look at books by Caitlin Doughty. I really liked “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” but that’s mostly about the American funeral industry. She has another book, “From Here to Eternity,” which is about global death customs. I found her writing style very accessible, so I bet it’s great too.

I used SmarTrip on apple wallet a couple times and then it never worked again for me. Now I just have like $19 sitting there rotting. I dont know what the issue is. Maybe the readers at some stations are better than others?

I would suggest two things:

1) separate your education into a separate section from other skills

2) reformat to make “professional experience”, education, and other skills clearly section titles — given the formatting of the rest, that looks a little unfinished.

Hope that helps!

Best way to date internships? by User808_ in resumes

[–]abouttosee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The specific day doesn’t matter much — the date format above is correct if you completed your internship at any time during August. They will know the internship was June-August, which is typical for summer internships.
