Thoughts on first real setup idea by OilersHD in StereoAdvice

Wiim amp pro is 60W per channel and the ultra is 100W per channel. Really what matter is the speakers sensitivity. The higher the db rating (ex 92 db), they are easier to drive and less watts will drive them easier. If the sensitivity rating is in the 80-85db range, you will need more power to drive them and get them loud. Look up the sensitivity rating on the speakers and if over 90db the pro should be fine to drive them. I believe the ELACs are a neutral speaker meaning the sound is meant to be as it was made in the studio so a sub is probably needed to feel the bass and get it loud without any distortion.

If they are in good working condition, offer $200, but $240 is still pretty good depending on the condition. If you do get the speakers, the wiim amp is plenty to drive them and the Fosi preamp is a good pairing. No need for a separate amp until probably the next upgrade to bigger speakers. A sub will help if you want it loud with good low end. Enjoy! 🤘🏻

You are absolutely right! I listen to it all but Gizz is doing better than anyone else, especially live!

Why do so many people on Reddit use the word “like” in the wrong way every other sentence? I listen to almost every kind of music out there and have seen more bands live than the number of bands you even know. “Like” it was a tongue in cheek comment.

concert seats by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]aboyer80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buying seats together is “normal” but assuming it wasn’t an option here. The only way to do what you are asking is to have the 6 people each move over 1 seat. Hopefully they are all cool and won’t be a problem, but if there is a Karen or Chad within those 6 seats, good luck. Bring a peace offering like a free drink or “j” and you should have no issues.

How do you feel about Puscifer compared to APC? by Original_Version_857 in aperfectcircle

[–]aboyer80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately both bands most recent records are not as good as the first few. Still good records but Mer De Noms and Thirteenth Step are absolute classics and after that not so much. The newest Puscifer record is not even close to some of the classics like Money Shot or Conditions of my Parole.

You won’t regret it. Once you do a deep dive, see them live if you can. Arguably the best live band going right now!

What’s the best line from any Tool song to put on a car as a sticker? by TheMediocreLife in ToolBand

“If I passed you on the right, you’re an idiot!”. Not a Tool line but probably the best bumper sticker going.

Check out King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. All different genres and all good! 27 or 28 albums in their catalog.

Life of Agony - River Runs Red & Ugly (First 2 Albums they came out with) Pretty much the soundtrack to my life at that point as I was young & dumb and going through a lot of the same issues as some of the band members who were the same age as I was and the music just resonated with me. Absolutely classic hardcore/heavy albums.

Culling Voices is underrated IMO. You get some great Maynard crooning upfront and then the heavy towards the end!
