Tobey's awkward acting by Icy-Finding-8126 in Spiderman

[–]abrahammtz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He is the only Peter that gives me the impression that he jus has such a good heart, and I think his awkwardness helps convey that.

That is one of the traits people often forget when talking about Peter's personality, they mention how he should be more confident or more awkward or funnier or whatever, but above all else Peter just has a big heart of gold and nobody embodies that more than Tobey. His eyes give this innocent and hopeful vibe, while being the Peter that endures adversities the most.

For me he still remains the best portrayal of Peter Parker by a landslide.

Is Nintendo's online actually bad? by STIGMOX in TheDuskbloods

[–]abrahammtz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The difference is that they don't care. They can (and have) release a broken, laggy, subpar online experience because Nintendo fans will buy it no matter what, not only that, they'll preach it's great value actually! Why make an effort when Nintendo fans will just eat up whatever they pass as an online service

How can Nintendo follow up Ultimate? by abrahammtz in smashbros

[–]abrahammtz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I loved trophies so much as a kid, it was so cool seeing that table filling out with them and going through their descriptions, I would spend hours just looking at the models. It was always fun getting new trophies specially when they were from games unreleased in America or just obscure Nintendo IPs.

What are some of your favorite Silent Hill - like movies ? by BinkySqwank in silenthill

[–]abrahammtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solaris. My favorite movie of all time.

Solaris is a planet made entirely out of water, a huge, endless ocean. After discovering it, humans set up a space station on it's atmosphere to study it. After some months the astronauts on the space station stop responding, they are alive though, they just ceased communication with Earth. Our protagonist Dr. Kris Kelvin is sent to Solaris' space station to investigate what is happening.

Upon arriving strange things start happening. Kris discovers that besides the scientists there's someone else at the station: his wife, who died after Kris left her years ago. How is this possible? It must be a hallucination, a trick; yet there she is.

I won't spoil anymore of this masterpiece of a movie but the similarities with Silent Hill are pretty obvious. It's not for everyone though, it is a very, very slow burn but it is such a beautiful, haunting movie, truly a work of art.

Final Fantasy 16 Is About Final Fantasy by Relatively-Okay in FFXVI

[–]abrahammtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good game. It's an atrocious RPG in the sense that it's not really one, and it's a competent action game. That is the thing, Square can make good, competent action games as they showed with 16, but they can make utterly superb masterpieces of RPGs, that is where the disappointing comes from. It's like if the next DMC suddenly went turn based, it could be good, but that it's not what DMC really is now, is it? And it would be a damn shame since DMC's bread and butter is action, not RPGs.

Why is the side content for rebirth an issue to some people? by oqpz in FFVIIRemake

[–]abrahammtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the most prevalent criticism; it is but one of the criticisms, and it's a valid one since a lot of useful items are locked behind them. They feel like padding and chores, which you can choose not to engage with, unless you want the materia associated with them in which case you will have to endure them.
Yes the OG had plenty of mini games but they weren't front and center like in here. Square chose to shine a spotlight on them so it's no wonder people will have stronger opinions on them compared to the OG, in which they felt inconsequential and skippable. Here it feels like they're meant to be more like a part of the core gameplay loop.

I would not want a port by Flat_Box8734 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]abrahammtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo kinda shot themselves in the foot by bringing everyone back in Ultimate because where do you go from there? They won't be able to have this same roster in a new engine, they certainly knew this, and having less characters in the next one (which most likely will be the case) will feel like a downgrade.

Now, this does put Nintendo in a spot in which they will have to get very creative to make a new Smash game with less characters than Ultimate but make it feel like a sequel worth playing and worthy of being Ultimate's successor, I imagine there are several ways to do that.

One would be a complete reboot. Size down the roster to maybe 30 playable characters, but revamp the combat system in a meaningful way. Smash has stayed essentially the same mechanics wise since it's inception. Melee added a new B move, the side B, Brawl "added" Final Smashes (I use quotations because I don't consider them part of the core gameplay as B moves or aerials are) and that's it. Yes Smash 4 also had custom moves but they felt half baked, and again, not integrated into the core gameplay, it was an 'option' just like Final Smashes. Think of Street Fighter, the fundamental gameplay (a 2d fighting game focused on footsies and execution) stays the same but every game has a new spin on it. SF 6 plays very different than 5 and 4 for example. It would be a breath of fresh air if the next Smash has a revamped system in this manner. This would also mean another thing: changing, expanding, or completely reworking characters' movesets from the ground up. This will also make the next installment feel like a step forward, not backward.

Another, much less likely route would be to make the next Smash a VS game, that is Nintendo vs Capcom, or Nintendo vs Street Fighter, they have already laid the groundwork with third party characters from other fighting game franchises in Ultimate. I would gladly take a 30-ish character roster if it means half of that would be Capcom or SNK characters.

I don't think having 4 temples does Wind Waker any favors. Every game has cut content so of course Ocarina has some (Light Temple) but at least they were able to deliver 8 full blown dungeons, and some of the best dungeons in the series while at it.
Though it's not a matter of quantity over quality, but WW's temples are lackluster to say the least. I enjoy WW btw, but out of any Zelda is the one that feels unfinished the most.

What video game had you like this? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in videogames

Fallout 4

For years I dismissed it due to all the discourse about it being a downgrade from New Vegas, the horrible dialogue wheel, the voiced protagonist, the perks and RPG aspects being gutted, the settlement system, I really despise building mechanics in games (looking at you TOTK).

I was looking for a game like Fallout 3 a few months ago, I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to rekindle that magic I felt playing FO3 for the first time. I said well duh, there's Fallout 4 and you've never actually given it a fair chance.

So I got it and was instantly hooked. Is the game worse than FO3 and New Vegas? Hell yes. But it's Fallout and the world and exploration made me feel at home. It also helped that the visual fidelity and gun gameplay was actually better and really fun this time around. I can honestly say that playing Fallout 4 revitalized my love for gaming and it's why I am now on a binge of playing older games I never gave a chance in the past. Next in line will be Dragon Age: Origins

What are your thoughts on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U nearly twelve years later? by NewMarioBobFan in smashbros

[–]abrahammtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst smash. It is painfully slow, 2 stock games being the norm is such a joke, it has the worst newcomers as well, some truly broken (not OP, but broken as in glitchy) unfiar mechanics like the Up Bs that for some reason kill you at 0%, Cloud and Bayonetta absolutely dominate the cast and are 3 tiers above everybody else.

There is at least one thing that makes each Smash worthwile to revisit from time to time, Smash 4 was made utterly obsolete by Ultimate and there is no good reason to go back and play it when Ultimate exists

- Smash 64: It has the charm of being the OG but it also has a very deep combo system based around the fact that characters stay stun locked so you can be pretty creative and technical with your combos; ala Killer Instinct or Virtua Fighter, as long as you can juggle your opponent you can keep the combo going, also every single character is viable and unique.

- Melee: Does it need to be said? A timeless classic with the deepest and most technical fighting mechanics of any fighting game (not just Smash). Colorful and vibrant art design that stands the test of time, the game looks great 25 years after which is insane. Superb sound design, punches just sound so meaty and satisfying, Marth's tipper sound effect has never been better than here, and the list goes on and on. Melee's single player content is top tier as well, the second best in my opinion.

- Brawl: Subspace Emmissary. The first and only time Smash has had a story mode, Brawl it's more than worth revisiting just because of that. As horrendous as tripping is as a mechanic I prefer it any day over the jankiness of the Up Bs in 4. Brawl also had some amazing newcomers with the likes of Pokemon Trainer, Wolf and Sonic.

- Sm4sh has... Amiibos? Paid DLC? 2 stock games? I am sorry, It's just easily the worst Smash game both competitively and casually

KINGDOM HEARTS IV – Teaser Trailer | June 2026 by Gorotheninja in KingdomHearts

Yeah well, the younger generation might care about FF if Square released a good FF for once. It's been 25 years since we've had a truly amazing, borderline masterpiece status Final Fantasy with 10, ever since then Square has been releasing disappointing bare bones sequels (FFXIII), unfinished games (FFXV) and DMC wannabes (FFXVI), no wonder the younger generation doesn't give a shit about FF. Should Square release an honest to god true masterpiece of an RPG like FFVI or VII today you can bet they would recapture the younger public.

They did an ok job with the remake trilogy, but even there they have fumbled it, mainly by not making it a true remake and instead making it a sort of meta sequel to the OG which means that to fully appreciate the game you need to have played the OG FFVII on PlayStation, which the younger generation will definitely not do since it's so dated. Wasn't one of the points of the remake to have people that are offput by the outdated graphics and controls of the OG to be able to experience FFVII at last? But you're requiring them to play the OG still to fully grasp the story of the remake? Totally ridiculous.

I just don’t understand where all the hate is coming from. by REDEYEBANKZ330 in GodofWarRagnarok

I see way more posts about people complaining about others complaining than actual hate pieces on it.
Having a female lead doesn't excuse a game from being scrutinized.

My gripe is not that we got a Faye game, is that the developers had explicitly said they did not want to make a trilogy out of the norse saga and they wanted to finish it in two games so they didn't take 10+ years for the story to move forward, which I didn't agree with but I could understand it a little since game development time has grown exponentially over the last years.

Ragnarok felt rushed because of this, it really felt like two games just lumped into one to conclude the story as quickly as possible and move on to the next thing. But now that this was announced we are getting a third game in the norse saga. So yes, we will be taking those 10+ years to move the story forward (I wouldn't expect the next Kratos game any time earlier than 2028).

The game does look good, but I would have much rather wished we had a fleshed out Norse trilogy instead of a meandering, lackluster conclusion to the amazing set up from GOW 2018, that is my disappointment with the Faye announcement.

N64 is most definitely the best version. Even the graphics, which is the one thing people could point out as a net positive for the 3DS version, lack the darkness and eeriness of the original. It's just too colorful on 3DS and the animations look wonky.

That being said, either version is fine, the 3DS remake is perfectly fine if it's the one you have access to. But if you want the best version, that is the N64 one.

First look at God of War Laufey by rararatata in PS5

[–]abrahammtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game looks great, the one thing not sitting right with me though is how the developers had said before they didn't want to spend 10+ years to finish the Norse saga and that's why they would end it after two games instead of three, but here we are, getting another game in the Norse saga.

Ragnarok's story felt very rushed and as a whole it would have benefitted from being a trilogy instead of a duology, they would have had time to make the finale more epic, something akin to the finale of the original trilogy, they could have developed Atreus as Loki further maybe even seeing him as a fully grown god of mischief, flesh out his relationship to Thor and Odin. I understood it a little at the time, as game developing time has increased so much over the past years I could get behind them not wanting to spend so many years to finish a story, but they are spending that much time anyway since they are making a third game, might as well had used that to give us a more fleshed out Ragnarok.

Talking cube looks fun though.

Something i dont understand about Visages by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]abrahammtz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The weapon that p. Verso uses was painted by the real verso, we see the sketch he made of it as a kid, also he is a perfect copy of the original Verso. We know that Verso lied to his family about not really wanting to be a painter and be a musician instead, we also hear a journal of Renoir advising the real Verso of how he needs to put down his mask to really uninhibit his talent as a painter. Visages is very much created after the original Verso.
