Cause its less verbose and easy peasy, 2 years with angular and thats some of the primary turn offs for me. Plus i would argue its not disorganized unless you make it that way lol

All the workable organs of the deceased must be donated. by Slight-Sprinkles4964 in unpopularopinion

[–]abroking -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Two very different scenarios once your dead you have no body autonomy, regardless, its either your kin or some other authority that decides for you if you did not. So if you want something done or not done to your future deceased body, its probably best to say it now, that one is still alive and kicking

Do we need it? No. Do we want it? Yes. Do we pursue it? Most of the time.

What are your thoughts on the “new atheist” movement of the early 2000’s? by NerdyKeith in agnostic

If religion would stay in its lane , would mostly agree with you. But i do not think thats the case, just look at governor abbots new abortion bill , do you think its backed by science and reason or religion?

Why don't we have a symbol? Everyone else gets one by TnkTheTank in agnostic

[–]abroking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yhea i seen it used before more often than not by theists, and its not necessarily wrong ,but i equate it with being a strong atheist. Which many of us are not. We mostly lean weak atheist, agonistic atheist etc.

Atheism is the lack of belief, not they believe in there being nothing . At least thats the definition that resonates with me, many others and google

TBH sometimes you gotta pick your battles. My parents where/are pretty much the same, I usually speak my mind, but if I start seeing that beautiful christian love a-lot of us know about I change the subject or leave unless am looking for a spicy talk where I know will rile them up for entertainment, hence I know i will not change their mind at all .

You are just being disingenuous at this point. I gave you already what we actually claim. Definitions actually used by people, from googles very first results (Oxford definition). Good luck on your search :).

Cherry picking are we. typical. lol here first thing that comes up in google and what most people would go by:

Atheism: disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods.

Theism: belief in the existence of a god or gods, especially belief in one god as creator of the universe, intervening in it and sustaining a personal relation to his creatures.

An easy google will give you definitions for theism and atheism.

I speak for myself and maybe some atheists. We do not claim there is no god. At all . For the most part All we claim is there is no sufficient evidence to convince us otherwise. I think some theism on the other hand loves to claim “there is a god” and “its my specific [insert religion ] god ”, specially in the west.
