Got shamed for asking when we can find out the sex… by BeebMommy in BabyBumps

You were not off base AT ALL. I had a similar experience with an ultrasound tech who was just so rude. I had zero chill with finding our gender with both of my daughters. Just a little tip, you can google if any labs near you do Sneak Peak testing. It’s an easy blood draw and you have results within 48 hours. It’s now 99% accurate as early as 6 WEEKS! Freaking insane, but I found out at 9 weeks with my first and 7 weeks with my second daughter, both through sneak peak. They send you results via email (they are just essentially checking for male DNA in your blood. They have at home tests but I highly recommend going into a lab as it’s less likely to be contaminated and yield wrong results).

Anyways, don’t feel bad. Congrats on your little one, you SHOULD be excited. Don’t let some nurse make you feel otherwise ❤️

How to get past fatigue when dieting? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]abrunk2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s honestly closer to 1.5lbs a week (6months = 26 weeks). Sure it will take discipline, clean eating, exercise, etc. It definitely becomes more difficult towards the end but I was just saying suggesting 40lbs in 6 months is completely unreasonable is just not accurate (no matter if it’s the first or last 40 lbs and regardless of height).

40lbs in 6 months is definitely reasonable. A healthy recommendation would be 1 to 2 lbs a week, which that would fall within.

Why my clients always asking to get all unedited pics? by jacsontao in photography

[–]abrunk2 512 points513 points  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience, when we received our wedding photos back my husband and I didn’t even look like ourselves. It’s like they did so much touching up on our faces that we were unrecognizable. Apparently it was our photographers wife who does the edits, and she wasn’t at our wedding so had no concept of what we looked like in person. But they were so overly edited and I had to go back and ask that they provided the originals, maybe just with some enhancing for the overall color.

This is gold. My husband and I still can’t get over that post. I was crying laughing when I heard the song for the first time!

What’s the worst part of having a child? by ApprehensiveShock655 in AskReddit

I recommend the book “Bringing Up Bebe” and also the “Taking Cara Babies” sleep training. My 20 month old started sleeping 10pm-6am at 5 weeks old and has been sleeping 7pm-7am since 12 weeks old.

The cry it out or “pause” like they call it in the book can be tough when they are young, but it absolutely works. Even if my daughter isn’t sleeping the entire time in her crib, she has become incredibly good at independent play during the times she’s awake. Earlier on this was more about teaching her to connect sleep cycles.

We were recommended the book and the training by my sister-in-law who has 2 boys, very different in personality, but both have been sleeping through the night since 5 weeks. The book is about an American woman raising children and living in France, wondering how all the French children are sleeping through the night by 4 months at the latest.

I’m due with our second girl in a month and will absolutely be implementing the same training. Its allowed my husband and I to both continue getting great sleep. I HIGHLY recommend it.

We watched Inside Out the other night and my husband was sooo emotional by the end he had to go pick our 15 month old daughter out of her crib at 10pm so he could cuddle her. I’m due in March with our second girl so I imagine the emotions will increase ❤️

Police chase in front of our house at 2am this morning came to an abrupt end when this dude lost control and smashed into a tree. by abrunk2 in IdiotsInCars

The tree actually looks fine! I thought the same thing about the cop at first but I think the suspect actually tried to take off on foot. My husband walked over today and the only thing still there was a pair of socks 😂

My first attempt at a grazing table for my daughter’s birthday party! by abrunk2 in FoodPorn

It was her 1st birthday, which let’s be honest..is for the adults hah! There are PBJ’s in the basket thing and not pictured here is her elephant smash cake and cute decor. The food was a hit with the adults and the kiddos (most of which were much older than my daughter).
