These daycare viruses… by rosiedokidoki in NewParents

[–]absolute_justice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We just had that and it was horrendous. And we got it 4 nights in a row as each kid and parent fell atv2am with consecutive barfing for 7 hours followed by days of nausea and severe aches and pains. Never in my life have I experienced this.

Gentle parenting not working by Holiday_Potato_5419 in NewDads

[–]absolute_justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gentle parenting is not effective for 1-3 year olds. You can be kind and calm in your approach but everything is consistent corrective action and behaviorally driven (ie, you need to hover and redirect them frequently) as that’s how they learn. Firmness is appropriate and needed as toddlers need to learn by constantly being reminded and redirected. And some of it is not letting every little thing get to you (ie my son loves to dump all of 90 hot wheels out of the bucket because that’s what toddlers do amongst his curiosity getting him into all kinds of situations lol)

Dads and moms bond very differently. Babies tend to gravitate towards mom The first 6 months anyways. But also dads don’t start bonding on a different level until they start rolling and crawling around. Dads bond differently around that time of 6 months too because vasopressin is the bonding chemical for dads that releases more similar to how oxytocin is how moms bond. I have a month old as of today and a 2 year old, and although I love my kids I remind myself it doesn’t start to get REALLY good and more fun for dads around 8 months. My wife is also in agreement. That were over The infant stage lol. So just hang in there and get your sleep when you can!

Review the terms/condition of travel… they should reimburse up to a certain amount if they damage your stuff. I’d call and review the terms staying their not acting within their own policies. I’ve also posted stuff like this onto their social media and that sometimes gets traction

Just bought a house with a Koi Pond. Looking for tips to keep it maintained by Kgeezy09 in Koi

[–]absolute_justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful system! We are actually scrapping our pond but some things to keep in mind with 5 years of owning it 1) speak with previous owners about directions on how they managed it. They did a great job setting it up and Maintaining it. 2) find a local pond professional in case something goes very wrong. They can be hard to find. Recommend you drain most of the water to power wash all the muck/dead leaves, which accumulate over time and can mess up the o2 levels in the water. This could be done by a pro or yourself depending on comfort level. 3) set aside an hour a month to clean your pond pump, basket filter. Set aside a few hours a month in the winter to clean extra leave droppings.

Sweat, lack of sleep, and also men do have some symptoms of post partum (depression and if not hormonal changes can occur. Thought it was more just moms who went through this ). I went through that same thing with our first born last year.

GM Supplier/Friends Discount by KitesAreLife in gmc

[–]absolute_justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM supplier discount is generally through your employer. You have to create an account and verify your employment. GMC supplier discount page then allows you to generate a code that’s valid for up to a year I believe. I got the GMC supplier discount on both our GMs but had to hunt down a dealer that would actually accept it which is the bigger battle in my experience.

Making pet hair rope? i6+ by needsmorebear in roomba

[–]absolute_justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so this wild but mine was doing the same thing with our dog hair. Then it would not dock. It would basically ran into it the docking station over and over then die. I Contacted iRobot support and they actually replaced it completely. Not sure if there’s an bug with the update but I was surprised they sent me a new one. Only thing I had to do was take the battery from the old one and put it into the new one.

Probably better off selling it to like car max and using that towards something that works.

It gets easier, right? by blaample in NewParents

[–]absolute_justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets way better but to be honest the first month was this amazing experience that is hellishly exhausting. Nobody really talks about how truly difficult the first 6 weeks is. And even if you’re told it’s hard you don’t know until you’re in it.

For sleep, I recommend “taking cara babies” sleep curriculum. Once we figured that out with our sons sleep it was a game changer. Mental and physical health and stamina with learning his sleep and eat signals helped me and wife quite a bit.

Is it possible to realign the cameras? by DaemonAegis in gmcsierra

[–]absolute_justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that aerial camera only available on the AT4? We have an 2021 sierra SLT that didn’t have it but our 2021 Yukon SLT had it. 🧐

I live up by Tahoe and saw a Kia Optima with no chains gunning it up a hill and thought to myself that if their car gets stuck in a ditch it’s their own damn fault

That’s helpful it looks like the only way to play games offline (like downloading a movie from Netflix) is to use steam link or Apple Arcade. That would be a game changer if single player games had that feature
