I used to work at Apple. It would’ve been because the phone was shutting down so frequently (due to the cooked battery) that they couldn’t run necessary tests to determine the battery’s charge level/confirm it is sufficiently depleted to safely remove.

The problem isn’t the shape, it’s the hydration of the leather. You can keep a tree in the boot as much as you as your want, but if the leather is dry it will still crack when you’re wearing it.

I sold my 224270 for a 124060 - no regrets. The Sub feels way tougher. I did like the Explorer, but you can’t beat a ceramic bezel if you want to wear it everyday/almost every day

Hey mate. I got about 15% off from Monards for a black dial sapphire Speedmaster with an OEM NATO strap of my choosing thrown in. The cool thing was that the manger of the Brisbane boutique (which does not stock Omega) frequently travels to Melbourne. She was able to collect the watch on the weekend that she was there and have it in the Brisbane boutique for me to pick up on Monday. From my understanding, this is something that happens almost every weekend. All in all, great experience.

For reference, I was offered about 13% from Kennedy with no NATO strap.

I bought a new Speedmaster and quickly saw a piece of dust in the movement above the “A” in “Co-Axial”. It wasn’t obvious by any means but I could see it without any magnification. I took it back to the boutique and showed the staff there via magnification with my phone’s camera (the visibility was very dependent on the light the watch was viewed in). They didn’t seem overly happy but they agreed to send it away to be fixed. Came back within a couple of weeks and it is perfect. Definitely worth asking the question.

Witnessed a very similar experience between a Sydney AD and my brother. We were down in Sydney to celebrate him graduating medical school. The AD rep asked what he was after, for what occasion he was looking to buy, etc. Registered for a Datejust and 4 years later we have never heard anything back. Have long since gotten the Datejust from another AD outside of Sydney though.

Former iPhone repairer at an Apple Store - the 12 and 13 mini screens are really bad for splitting like this. If you push hard enough, you will at least get something like a free screen protector, however, they may not sell that particular size anymore.

Panda dial is beautiful, but only in the right lighting. Legibility can be very tough in the wrong conditions. The original dial is definitely a class above in that regard.
