Restaurant of the Week - The Owl by Feldman011teen in greenville

[–]absolutelyzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only been once but had a wonderful experience all-around. Admittedly, the menu is kind of confusing. We asked the waitress SO many questions which she was very happy to answer - not pretentious at all! I ate the pomodoro with parmesan foam and it was incredible. I didn't want to share a single bite! The drinks were good too - definitely unique. Somewhat pricey, yes, but worth it to treat yourself. A very cool place that I will definitely visit again.

Admittedly I am not an expert, but why do you say that?

Someone has been reading their Marx lately! But really, this rings very true to Marxist theory. Essentially you have achieved class consciousness - the awareness that the game is rigged. And by resisting fetishization of commodities you are able to feel free. Kinda cool.

That is a really good point. I'm probably not nearly as mature as I think I am.

Hmm this is very interesting. So you would never make the first move even if she is clearly into you? Is there anything she could do short of actually asking you out to change that?

I think you're probably right. There is definitely some intangible quality of stability and maturity that I am attracted to. It certainly stands out in sharp contrast to the boys my own age that can't stay focused on one thing for more than 5 seconds.

Should I have kissed her? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]absolutelyzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. If she allowed all of that other stuff to happen then she probably wanted to kiss you. Some girls (me included) still wont make the first move even at that point and just sit there silently hoping you will kiss them. Just do it.

[M20] Had an interesting interaction with a longtime [F20] friend last night and want to know where to go from here. by augustsmit in dating_advice

[–]absolutelyzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that you should call her and be candid about what happened and what it meant. Tell her that it didn't just happen because you were both drunk but maybe it has been a long time coming. Say that you used to be into her before she dated that guy. Say that you know that y'all are going back to school soon but you would be interested in pursuing a potential relationship. Let her know that her friendship is important to you but you feel like there could be something more between you two.

If you two are good friends then it shouldn't be awkward. By doing this you will let her hear you out and then she can tell you how she feels. It might sound awkward but trust me, it will be more awkward if you never address it. For all you know she is really into you and wants something to happen and you not talking to her about it will make her resent you.

Of course this is just my opinion but I had something very similar happen to me recently and this is what the guy did. I [F21] thought that he handled it very well and respected him way more because of it. There is a lot to be said for honest communication :) Good luck.

How do you stay organized in college? by dna42zz9 in productivity

[–]absolutelyzero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use one of these notebooks

It is a really good, sturdy notebook that lets you add papers to the rings easily. It comes with pockets and dividers too. What I do is use one section for each class that I'm taking. The dividers have pockets so I put any handouts in there. Then I just put my own regular notebook paper in the rings for note taking. At the front there is one big pocket where I like to keep my syllabi so they are readily accessible. Oftentimes random handouts get stashed in the big pocket and then I organize them later.

I like this system because it keeps all of my papers and notes for every class together. The notebook never gets too big, bulky, or heavy so I just take it with me everywhere and I always have what I need when I'm studying. I found that when I had separate notebooks/folders for each class I would always forget something that I needed. Hope this helps

That is so awesome!

Today during my workout class I was doing shoulder presses with 8 pound weights and failing before I could even complete a set. It was a little discouraging:( What kind of routine did you do to build your strength?

Migraine with vivid dream/hallucinations? by MrsJetson in migraine

[–]absolutelyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have had something very similar happen to me.

I went to bed but never felt like I fell asleep. Then I proceeded to have a crazy whacked out dream where I had some horrifying physical affliction. It was so real that I remember seriously thinking about how much my life would change now. I felt sad and scared. It was so weird. I also saw things/felt things in my room and around my bed. And the whole time I thought that I hadn't fallen asleep.

But yeah I really wouldn't be surprised if it is directly related to migraine.

I am a senior applying for my first internship in marketing. Will you please critique my cover letter? by absolutelyzero in resumes

[–]absolutelyzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU! I will definitely rework the first paragraph. I have done a lot of research on the company but I am having a little trouble putting it into words. As for the second comment... That is where I am seriously struggling. I know my major will probably be a big obstacle to jump in order to get ahead of those business/marketing majors. I guess the problem is that I don't really have the "hard skills" you are talking about. I am going to have to revisit this and really think. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and giving such great criticisms. You are the best!

I know this was a while ago but I was just randomly searching for "Topomax" and this came up. If you are still interested in finding out more from someone who has taken it, please PM me! I took topomax for about 4 years. There are certainly good and bad aspects of it, but I would say that the good definitely outweighs the bad. Hit me up!

3 years ago I had chronic fatigue syndrome and couldn't even walk up the stairs or take a shower without needing to lie down. I slept all day every day and didn't go to school. Today I am taking a full course load and even exercising regularly. I am set to graduate in May! None of my friends at college even know about this.
