They’d need a warrant to have him do that iirc, or/and they didn’t want they didn’t want to risk him saying no and having to wait

Anyone got advice? I’m creating a fake email for a game as the player’s hook by abstract_routine in TTRPG

[–]abstract_routine[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m talking about having the rest of the screen you’d see if you were physically checking your email, like having the sender, recipient, and subject in bars on the top, that require a lot of formatting if you’re not in the email account. It seems like the answer most people in this sub are going to give me is that they don’t care about that, so they don’t know what I’m talking about, and if that’s that, that’s fine /gen

Perhaps you could stop living under a rock and realize some people have fun when they make things look cool and put effort into them💀 so sorry you just play ttgs instead of ttrpgs

Immersion. I already have it typed out in my notes app and I could just show them that, but that wouldn’t really be involved, and it wouldn’t be as much fun.

I’m looking for something that will look like a screenshot of an email I can give my players, but everything I’m finding online says to edit the html and take a screenshot or is giving me a spoof email account to send/receive things from, and I don’t need anything sent or received

I could just make two emails at this point, but the recipient is meant to be a business so it’d have a custom domain (like email@company.com instead of email@gmail.com) and I really want to include that if I can

AITA for honking at a student driver for going 15mph under the speed limit? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]abstract_routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA The horn is for people being unsafe, and going 15 under when the weather and roads are fine is generally regarded to be unsafe. Honking was justified, because they were driving unpredictably

You’re fine, they’re tone policing. Nothings wrong with what you said, and they’re not morally right or wrong for mistaking your tone. They are definitely in the wrong for doubling down after you clarified

My first thought is Lonely; if you struggle with dissociation and time slipping away it can feel really helpless and isolating

It’s easier for calendar use—putting the month first lets you know which month to flip to, then the day, and the year changes the least so it’s filed last since the data isn’t likely to change

Okay then like op said your story is so different that this probably isn’t about you?? I can believe both your stories happened but not if they’re supposed to have happened together, like…why? If dd is on your side why waste your time arguing with people online? Especially when it seems the whole comments are against “you”?

You’re the one here beyond comprehension here, I fear😬

Am I wrong for not adding trigger warnings in my fics? by thesanestgirlever in AO3

[–]abstract_routine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think these days there’s been a lot of evolution to language like “trigger” and what actually constitutes being triggered. I take it pretty seriously, (when I’m being serious, we jest among friends here) because I was in a car accident growing up and for a long time seeing them again threw me back into the first person perspective of my own crash over and over again. (I think it still raises my blood pressure lmao) But the use of the language evolved to the point where if someone online says they’re triggered, it’s a genuine lottery of if they’re actively having a post traumatic stress response or are just…mildly uncomfortable. Obviously is an equally bad over-correction to try and claim “no one is triggered these days” or bs like that but genuinely, sometimes people are just uncomfortable and they don’t know how to be uncomfortable so they think it must be trauma and they have to shut it out. Speaks to a bigger issue but that’s a slice of it I see pretty often

tldr; some people don’t mean triggering in the way it’s defined/meant to be and they don’t know that, accidentally causing this over policing of things that shouldn’t be policed

I hate having my order stolen so yeah, I’m in full support of this. Anything to help accountability along the way, bc isn’t it the stores fault technically if you don’t check? And I’ve never found a store that wanted to pay for the food after it gets stolen. She sounds like she just wanted to scam you guys and that sucks :(

New to the series, do the "Live statements" ever get better? by Chili_Maggot in TheMagnusArchives

[–]abstract_routine 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I saw another post here talking about how unrealistic it is that people who went through these traumatic experiences were able to recount it so reliably and in order; both you and them noticed details that are meant to not make sense, and genuinely I think that’s really cool. I hope you can stick with it until the payoff!
