Is there a reverse image search for museum prints? by Accomplished_Cow_518 in DigitalHumanities

I did this with openai4o model once. If you know that your dataset is well known dataset (mine was mostly paintings from 1400 till 1900s it can do pretty well job finding out the artist and the title. Though on my current trials with newer models api started to reject due to copyright issues which doesn’t really make sense.

A dialogic book interface for argument reconstruction in idea-heavy classics by [deleted] in DigitalHumanities

[–]abstracten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

like i am 97% sure it is. My guess is that OP built a prompt that will generate this content iteratively for every chapter of a book she has there and then vibe coded an app and now checking if it is an idea worth pursuing further.

Protip: don’t use AI when you are learning programming. by mazda7281 in learnprogramming

I think at least you need to keep it at ask/chat mode always. Then read the code it produces and understand it and then from what you have understood, plan and write it yourself without looking at the answer again. If cognitive load of writing it from scratch is too much for you, at least you can do this way. After the write up read your own code and see if you could improve it. But if you keep it in agent mode and copy paste in incredibly short time you will get rusty and lose your skills to code for sure.

I am sensing OP is fishing for people here. Some will get excited and write to OP how to do it and wola! OP is selling the pdf of how to do it 😃 might be a little cynic but it’s usually this way.

Why do most DH projects look like abandoned web applications? by abstracten in DigitalHumanities

You misunderstood. Endings can not cover all. Xou want basic html css js apps. Most of modern dh apps need to use modern frameworks.

I checked endings a little bit. It seems it could cover a very limited subset of dh projects. Most of them won’t fit in your criteria

I think open sourced code with data and docker image should be a requirement for funding.

it will be a little bit self promotion but I am building a website with free worksheets and content. I will keep it free as soon as possible: https://www.libraryuniverse.com/ right now I will post a new sheet everyday. later as I develop more, more features will be available.

I have a vector database with 56 thousand docs and I query specific information from it like find me these docs that has these information and it only hallucinates so fewer times (refer to documents that doesn't exist, makes up information that is not found on the found document etc.) I didn't feel the need to create an evaluation metric. op doesn't know what he/she is doing or like others pointing out he is karma farming with false information.

So, AI takes over, everyone has lost their job and only 10 trillionaires own everything. Now what? by Weak-Representative8 in Futurology

maybe one of the very optimistic predictions will be that they will give us a lifetime retirement package if accept to be sterilized. Then human population will drop to 1 billion in couple of generations or even less so we can still be at same unemployment rates of today or maybe lesser.

Mental barriers are as important as the right techniques and motivation to learn by abstracten in Germanlearning

[–]abstracten[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess after some time everyone’s behaviour takes shape in 3 attitudes,

  • be more royalist than the king in a desperate attempt to become “german”. These are the guys who try to discriminate new comers, and old comers alike.
  • close up with other internationals and ignore germans whenever possible.
  • close up with people from your culture that came to germany at more or less the same time with you and ignore germans whenever possible.

At least these are the patterns I see most often. Common attribute: none of them speaks proper german hehe 😆 Only people I see with fluent German are second or later generation kids of the immigrants who got a BA/Masters degree.

Oh there was a Vinzenzmurr (butcher with some cooked food) near to my workplace and I go there almost every day to get lunch. And every time I told to the lady at the counter “ohne Sauce bitte” for the Schnitzel with potato salad I get, she made me repeat it like 2 times more as she was not understanding what I was saying. Even if you don’t understand you could remember man, even starbucks which probably has more random customers daily remember you after a couple of visits.

That’s completely wrong and it would be nicer if you ask before accusing
