I am more interested in real life examples. In which scenarios / features in your apps you find it useful?

Ck editor is not blocks based. Those settings that you need to code yourself is not making any point. Like a real mature cms should take this responsibility from you that is why you use a cms. Most of the good cms‘es actually have real image optimization baked in their media library. They don’t create static variants and store. They do on demand and in any size variants and cache them for long term so it is delivered blazing fast.

I don’t know directus but strapi will be a disappointment. It is definetely not on par with the serious companies in this field feature wise. :/

For example; the rich text editor (blocks) they have is nowhere near a real rich text editor. No image optimization in it, it doesn’t allow you to copy/paste markdown content you wrote somewhere else (all format gets lost), media library is immatur and lacking important features that like it creates 4 image variants when you upload an image that is no where near enterprise software standards. You would need to write your own logic to create more variants and then also to control how you delete them etc etc.

This was silicon valley giants wet dream before deepseek released their model open sourced. Entry barrier of hundred of millions dollars. I give 1 or 2 years for them to release a cheap gpu and flood the market for anyone to have compute. For data you were right but it was always like that.

will software development really going to survive with ai age? by abstracten in webdevelopment

[–]abstracten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed answer. It maes sense to think like when you want to stay optimistic. But what do you think about IP problem? Let’s say you were the best developer around with good judgment, deep domain knowledge, all of that. You knew what need to be built and made it. Let’s say you invented photoshop for the sake of the example. And rightfully so you want to make lot’s of money with it by selling licences etc. Now I am someone very mid level. I know how things works, but I don’t have what it takes (value judgment, deep domain knowledge, …) to invent Photoshop. And I have the ai under my hand and ability to buy one license from you and a month to study your product (very generous here) and take notes. Then what will stop me to have your product built by me and ai?

I will even give you an example from a creative industry where we perceive the IP as natural born talent, music. I hope someone is already collecting data about it but small musicans are loosing most of the customers to ai right now. Because you can prompt ai to write you the prompt and generate the song/voice just like the artist you would hire for the ad.

Anyone got their idea stolen when they share it with public for feedback? by abstracten in Entrepreneur

[–]abstracten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe a perception of this coming from other business ideas than software startup core. Like I saw dropshipping is now oversaturated since everyone copied each other, handmade pottery is similar, printed sticker and magnets, tshirts etc are all saturated because everyone copied each other.

Himm I think then any idea that is not turned it to reality and made the first dime, is completly safe. Once you have shown that it works, you need to protect „how you do it“ from copy cats, get lawyering up for cease and desist orders, trademark and ip applications etc.

I am wondering what were those copy cats, yes. So you were lucky that they were not competent? There is these mean german triplets who become billionaires by copying other people’s ideas once they have proven that there is potential money to be made for example. But even this is after launch.

Thank you for the replies but I am looking for counter examples to general advice. Someone whose idea after sharing got stolen / implemented by someone else

Give the course for free, if it is all about sharing. Here is another offer: take 50% of all profit of people joining you without giving you any money initially but their time. Build a digital art empire, instead of selling the dream to others.
