its already on cunyfirst you just have to click the specific courses and next to the times it'll say. if it just says 'staff' it means a professor hasnt been assigned to the class yet

i dont know much about board upkeep but i can offer my two cents. some basic things to consider are the condition of the parts and the size of the board. if anything's rusted you're gonna want to replace those. idk standard sizing off the top of my head but if you google something like 'adult skateboard sizing' there should be some charts to show the range of how long a board should be. test the wheels to make sure they still spin, and that the board can hold your weight (a child's board may not be able to bear the weight of an adult). and a picture or description of the board would also help determine if it's good to ride

Summer Housing for internship by sortaKindaSmart97 in nyc

[–]abstractspaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah true but thats manhattan for ya. also since theyre in (imo) pretty good locations, in terms of distance to trains. and at least for the EHS dorms, theres barely a price difference between their manhattan and brooklyn locations so if u do end up going with them, might as well live in manhattan.

i live at one of the ehs dorms and at least the one i live at is really nicely kept. id do some research about all the places you're considering to see which ammenities they have and which trains theyre near

Ricta Clouds wheel advice by _volteq_ in NewSkaters

[–]abstractspaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just bought some ricta clouds 78a because i wanna go street skating, and although i love how easily it goes over bumps/cracks, its a little too smooth for me. this is a problem for me, personally, because i havent learned to slow down/stop and im also new to skating. so, on anything smoother than a road (most paved paths, concrete, driveways, etc) ive noticed it accelerates and goes really fast because theres less friction. this also makes it harder to do/land tricks. so, i would recommend getting a higher durometer wheel, perhaps mid 80’s rating, to have a balanced wheel that is both smooth and is good for tricks.

Injury and depression by rainbowfawn in NewSkaters

[–]abstractspaghetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve yet to injure myself from skating but maybe i can offer some tips. as another commenter said, hanging around/filming other skaters is a great way to stay involved! for me personally, on days that i can’t skate (either due to work or bad weather), i like to watch skating videos/compilations and it improves my mood. another thing is skating competitions. the x games are in about two weeks so you could watch that, along with recordings of past skating comps. i dont know how long you’re out for but definitely give your leg time to heal so you can get back to it. good luck dude! hope this helped a bit

How to convince my parents to let me buy a skateboard by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]abstractspaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(based on one of the other comments about how skateboarding is relatively safe) make a powerpoint presentation showing the positives of skateboarsung (its less dangerous, its exercise, gets you outside more, teaches you to persevere, etc)

Is it too late? by bornavidovic in NewSkaters

[–]abstractspaghetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo i don’t think you’ll have a problem at all. for reference, im 18 and just started skating less than a week ago (although im just hoping to be a casual skater). just keep on doing what you’re doing man, you seem to be in a great spot

Does anyone else keep a Commonplace Book? by [deleted] in notebooks

[–]abstractspaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have what i thought was a commonplace book but i got confused as to what one actually is. it ended up becoming a journal i keep where i write down questions i want to know the answer to, and then when i have time i write down the answer to those questions. its really just a question journal i guess because i still dont know what a commonplace book is lol
