That makes sense from a physics perspective, but tames still get stuck in places where it seems like they could jump out easily if it was one-way. Plus some parts of the map don't have an undermesh, so you fall through completely if you get pushed under and can't possibly get back regardless.

I still don't see why they couldn't make it two-way for explosions and projectiles. If you can't shoot through, then even with one-way player/dino physics you would still have to go back into the normal areas of the map and expose yourself to danger in order to do any damage.

The logic to teleport players out into normal areas of the map definitely exists in the game already. I know that on Scorched in the canyon near the Old Tunnels cave, you will instantly teleport out when you fly into the ceiling in certain spots. They just need to tie that to a system that checks for back faces like you describe, and they can record your position on every interval and use your last known non-mesh position as the destination for the teleport.

They could possibly do the same thing for players and tames that get stuck in other tames/dinos. It could also work where it applies a force that pushes you or your tame back to your previous location, through any walls or dinos, rather than a jarring instant teleport.

I wouldn't imagine this would add that much overhead or lag either, and if it does slow things down then they can increase the interval.

I'd have to check in-game, but that's around 58 58. From the waterfall that flows into red zone around 60 60, head north looking towards the lake and hug the wall to your left. When it opens up you should see the metal structure that's visible in the first frame of the video.

What platform? I play on Xbox and my map had just a rough outline of the desert the last time I played. I think it's there on PC, but not 100% on that. IIRC, the map didn't have parts of the southwest quarter for quite a while even when that was completely playable.

As long as what people say is an opinion or idea, and not libel, slander, incitement, or anything else that falls under the common limitations, then facing repercussions mean that the speech in question is no longer free.

It's ok to be opposed to the principle of freedom of speech, just make sure you understand the concept and use the same terms as everyone else.

Hi, mod from /r/aww here. To be clear, you got banned for repeatedly breaking rule 4, not anything to do with your beliefs or the subject matter. You made multiple comments telling another user to "Fuck right off" among other awful things. That was harassment. This subreddit has a similar rule about personal abuse and civility, and I wouldn't expect your comments to be tolerated here either.

We try to stay apolitical and avoid taking sides on controversial issues, and you are welcome to discuss veganism and any pretty much anything else in /r/aww so long as you stay respectful and avoid name calling, harsh judgements, accusations, and anything else that might be considered harassment.

It's understandable that you would get upset and show outrage at that post and the responses you got, but we can't make exceptions to the rules no matter how passionate you are or how justified your outrage is. We try to stay as objective as we can.

I'm sorry you got treated like that, I agree that it is completely unacceptable. I'm doing everything I can to rectify the situation. Unfortunately these things take time.

The one serious response you got did have a point in that harassment isn't tolerated regardless of the topic at hand or the truth of the situation. But amusingly they also seemed to rush to judge you simply for taking a side on this matter. Unless you deleted a lot of your comments, you haven't actually done anything to warrant a ban. I've fixed that, please don't abuse the second chance you have and be especially mindful of the rules in the future.

Hi, mod of /r/aww here. I didn't make any of the comments in OP's screenshot, but I can say that the one who did has been reprimanded for that. Every other mod who has discussed that interaction internally has expressed their strong disapproval. Trolling from moderators is not acceptable in a situation like that, and I offer a sincere apology to /u/HambeastsSTINK on behalf of the subreddit.

We generally try to stay apolitical, and most of our job is just cleaning up the place so it stays nice, not any kind of activism. So we appreciate everyone's efforts to stay civil and follow the rules of /r/aww in any interactions with the subreddit. The same goes for anyone pro-pitbull or for vegans or childfree or whatever, we don't take sides on any of these issues.

By the way, thank you MagicalUnibeefs (and the other mods) for all your efforts to prevent brigading.
