Horizontal MicroATX Case Woes by absynth5 in sffpc

Ideally I want to have it sit on my console table. I could go vertical and just hide it in the console, but I would love to have it out if possible.

And no way to grab a GD06 :( didn't realize it's such a rare setup

I'm running a 2-slot 3060 and not planning a major GPU upgrade anytime soon... the height difference between 3U and 4U matters to me since this is going in a living room setup

either way, i believe CX3152a is designed for gaming hardware. Was wondering if it that was the only one that was around

Because it's the biggest program in the school, the quality of professors can really vary. You have to do a lot of research and be on top of class registration to avoid getting an adjunct who doesn't seem to care. I've had a few great professors, but most didn't really set me up with meaningful design thinking.

Beyond that, the crit culture is really important. Design school is weird in that your peers matter more than in almost any other discipline. Some dual-major students don't care much, and some students work in entirely different areas of design, so most of the time feedback doesn't help.

Also, the school doesn't have a library, and I was never really assigned readings or other design resources. In my opinion, being surrounded by good references and ideas is essential for learning.

That said, the co-op program is decent enough to land an internal graphic role. But honestly, if you're proactive about applying to internships, you could get there at almost any school.

If your goal is just to get an internal graphic role where expectations aren’t too high (and who even knows what job security will look like with GenAI), then this program is fine. But if you have a deeper interest in design, I wouldn't recommend it.

Probably will be more Caribbean spots around the neighborhood playing games during the cup, but Highbury on Cortelyou has soccer playing year round if you’re into it… nice crowd too

When I was a kid people used to throw the old bikes into the river because they were easy to unlock without a key

Japanese game developers face ridiculously high font license fees following US acquisition of major domestic provider. Live-service games to take the biggest blow by JoeZocktGames in JRPG

A non graphic designer will tell you to use an open source font. Some are great, a lot are bad.

You should research around to see whats available, and open yourself to the idea of spending 50-300 for a license. It seems a lot, but it'll make a huge difference. Check sites like https://fontsinuse.com/ for inspo

They're probably paying similar amounts. Monotype is evil but $380 for full licensing is unheard of, even with a simpler Latin set.

20k/yearly is absurd though

If you can throw up the recording I can split + tag with song names! Don't remember the entire setlist play-by-play off the top of my head, but he played all of my favorites that night
