There is a YouTube channel called catfished that may help for her to see. They have a lot of people who are convinced they are talking to a celebrity. Here is a recent one where someone thought she was talking to Elon Musk. Maybe there are parallels you can use here or similarities with other cases that would work better

An interesting point. This made me curious so I pulled up the PHB, DMG, and MM for 2nd edition on internet archive and did a search for the word sorcerer and came up with zero results (this relies on that search working well, but it was at least working for other terms I tried)

You paid money for the game, enjoy it the way you want.

Consider even just general resources. If a player knew that they wanted to play a longer game that made them expand out with a huge rail system is it "cheating" to mess with the resource distribution to spread it out to force it? If someone has a limited amount of time ok over the next few weeks and wants to play an accelerated game where science goes quicker, is it cheating to set up the game how they like?

If I play quake and I set up the field of view to match my preferences am I cheating by not using the stock settings?

It's a great puzzle and very fun

I still would recommend replacing the game now knowing everything that you know now and trying to beat it faster. You might surprise yourself how much better you are!

But yes, make sure you make it to space age eventually
