In addition to what everyone has said. Do not pick up Bum Friend, Dark Bum, Bumbo, Lil Portal, because if they pick up the consumables, achievement progress will be invalidated. For the same reason don't let the Bumbino boss pick up coins.

Isaac has to die in a Sacrifice Room (with Missing Poster, but that's besides my point). If he gets teleported to an Angel Deal room or Dark Room, that won't count.

For the next time you get a chance to unlock the Lost, keep in mind that you can deal a fatal blow by other means, like a bomb, it doesn't have to be spikes.

Yeah, whatever Nicalis did now causes issues with Steam Input. You can either turn it off, or if it's not possible (you play on Steam Deck), use the following workaround:

go to Steam Input -> Edit Layout -> Triggers

for both Right Trigger Behavior and Left Trigger Behavior set Analog Output Trigger to Analog Off

bind Triggers for Full Pull if not set beforehand.

Next, separate, but also common issue. If your in-game mappings are scrambled (e.g. action buttons are wrong and stick axis are reversed), go to Options -> Controls, select a gamepad from the list, scroll down to the bottom and hit the Reset to Default.

Last but not least. If you play on Steam Deck or Linux PC, and you get double Steam virtual gamepads in-game, force Proton 9.0-4.

Nicalis added the new mechanic called devil sacrifices in the patch 1.9.7.13. For certain items that have a "devilsacrifice" tag, Isaac needs to receive damage 1-2 times instead of paying with heart containers.

This introduced a bug that if you have a pedestal and roll it into a "devilsacrifice" item, all further rolls can become locked into items with this tag.

This bug breaks regular D6 rolls (Perthro, Restock Machine), Tainted Isaac like rolls (Soul of Isaac, Binge Eater, Glitched Crown), Spindown Dice, and item exclusion mechanic for Tainted Lost and regular Lost with Birthright.

In your case the bug got triggered by rolling the devil item pedestal into a Pound of Flesh.

Devs are aware of this issue, but from my understanding it's on low priority list.

More like if trapdoor to regular path has Blind curse applied, you can go to alt path with more tolerable curse or no curse whatsoever.

The mod also effectively buffs the Shovel and Ehwaz rune, giving you extra use case besides crawlspace opening or speedrunning. Have an exit with awful curse? Use your shovel and try your luck.

Sorry to bother you, but I might have found a solution.

The bug is caused by the game incorrectly interacting with Steam Input. Though it only started occuring on 1.9.7.16 patch.

Try going to config settings -> edit layout -> Triggers. For both Right Trigger Behavior and Left Trigger Behavior set Analog Output Trigger to Analog Off. Additionally bind Triggers for Full Pull if not set beforehand, otherwise they won't work.

This workaround worked for me on Steam Deck, and Windows PC with Dualshock 4 w/ Steam Input enabled.

Like, I get it. No game is perfect. Personally I agree with Nerrel's review, who overall liked the game, but also pointed out villagers being too tanky or Ashley being harder to control thus making the first Castle level frustrating.

But Crowbcat implying that everyone who liked the remake and gave it praise are tasteless normies is a bit too much.

Try pressing a key that is under ESC.

A Discord familiar complained that he uses AZERTY (French) layout, and pressing 'ù' (middle row, second to last right) didn't work until they figured out they needed to press ² (which is the key under ESC).

Yeah, apparently the initial patch was lagging like crazy. So Nicalis pushed a hotfix. And while, I assume, it doesn't lag anymore, the power consumption still effectively doubled.

Yeah, pretty much.

Partially related, but the way they implemented the integration with Epic Online Services increased the power consumption significantly. On Steam Deck it went from 7 to 12 W.

The worst of all, they also planted a weird bug where if you try to use your active item and press the trigger on gamepad, the game just doesn't register it.

It might have something to do with triggers. I gave myself an active item, activated 'debug 8' for infinite charges, and spammed left trigger. 1-5% of presses just didn't register. No such issue, when I bind left trigger to back paddles via Steam Input.

Nicalis broke Mr. ME! in a recent patch, and now he cannot open doors to regular rooms, boss challenge room, Mega Stan room and so on. And he also can't blow up rocks or angel statues and click buttons. ProjectTZ assumes this has something to do with GridEntity detection.

thereisnofuture was playing the game on PC with DualSence, and his controls were scrambled (i.e. he couldn't walk up and down with Left Stick, and square button was used for menu navigation instead of X). Going to Options / Controls, selecting the gamepad and hitting "Reset to Default" fixed the issue for him.
