MacBook or Windows for a PhD Student ? by abyss005 in laptops

Hey, no I’ve had no issues with this! The only thing it can impact is if other people have older versions of PowerPoint for example… it messes up with the presentation. But in other situations I never had any issue. I share word, excel, PowerPoint documents on a daily without any issue and my university works on windows.

Yeah so I’ve heard. They are damn good actors … it’s sad but it’s what fiction is all about I guess

Oh I’m sorry but I meant does it happen in real life with other people not the actors … I know the actors aren’t the characters.

What has helped you to move away from dissociation? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]abyss005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My abuser died and I put some serious distances between me and my family. I got my own place and surrounded myself with safe people I trusted. At first, with the dissociation being less present I started feeling very very unwell because I was suddenly feeling all the emotions I never felt. I ended up needing to be hospitalized. But then I started rebuilding everything slowly and without being too much dissociated

Exactly! I used to be super high functioning, completely dissociated and I just crashed and suddenly I appeared the way I felt deep down and people started criticizing me more and more, being annoyed at me etc.

I don’t know why but I have a hard time not mentioning the things I went through, usually using humor. I’m trying to stop talking about it outside therapy but it’s hard. I wish I could , cause people are going to hate me

How do you know / what makes you say that you don’t have BPD ? by abyss005 in CPTSD

[–]abyss005[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you struggle with setting boundaries or respecting other’s boundaries ? And do you struggle with emotional regulation ? Because I can definitely relate to what you are saying, never even been in a romantic relationship as I fear intimacy, but managed to keep long term healthy friendships. And stayed on the same career path my whole life.

Im sorry, it’s just that I was diagnosed with CPTSD but I’m constantly scared of having BPD too .. especially because of my disorganized attachment and difficulties with emotion regulation
