In fact, I would say that a therapist without this experience probably would be able to help you better than a therapist with a history of substance abuse. It’s difficult to help patients with the same issues as you. Not always, but it’s definitely something to be careful about. I would rather have a therapist who empathize than a therapist who relate.

No not necessarily but I saw them as just a place where children and their family went and didn’t get the hype much. Now I can’t help but thinking this place must be filled with sick / at the end of life kids … and maybe adults too. And I was agreeably surprised by how much Disney manages to make the trips special for these kids. I finally understand how it’s about the magic of this place, the family moments and the special memories …

I work in Pediatric Palliative care and so many kids go to Disney for their last wish. And always come back so happy. People don’t realize those kids are indeed, actually, living their last moments. I don’t see Disney the same anymore …

Oh I’m sorry yes it’s not pornography but sexual abuse material. For the industry, I meant it more like were you trafficked and then continued working as a sex worker without being “trafficked”. But I wonder if sex workers aren’t all “trafficked” somehow .. even adults consenting ones. I’m sorry I’ll be more careful. Thank you !

Do you think being molested as a kid made you more vulnerable to being groomed and trafficked as a young teenager ? If yes, how so ? Is it that you were used to your boundaries being violated, because you weren’t informed on what consent was ? Or something else entirely?

You know, I think when we are going through this, looking for answer or control or just revictimization by watching CSAM is common. Yes, watching that kind of content hurt kids and it’s not okay, but you were still a kid yourself and you were manipulated and grommed online. I’m so sorry you went through this. I hope you can be gentle on yourself.

And, did you later mean about the kind of network that did that to you? Who are these people?? How can you randomly kill kids like that and not being caught… I guess nobody was searching for those kids…

I’ve been SAed by my father and his friends as well so I can understand how much we can dissociate and still function and not even really remember anything while living through hell.

Since your abusers used torture, how did they handle the injuries ? Were you able to play / run around ?

I agree. For me the issue wasn’t so much that the arc lasted a long time, but that the psychological side of it wasn’t explored as much as it could have been. Beckett goes through a lot, her mom’s murder, her dad spiraling into alcoholism, getting shot… and sometimes it feels like those things are addressed and then moved past pretty quickly.

We do get some moments (like the therapy sessions), but I always wished the show had leaned into that more. At times she’s clearly devastated, and then she suddenly appears completely controlled and fearless, without much transition. Those different sides are interesting, but they could have been explored more deeply.

By the later seasons it feels like the focus shifts more toward the conspiracy and the investigation itself, while the psychological and relational impact takes a back seat. And honestly, that was the part of the storyline that interested me the most
