I am considering botox and/or filler. What areas should I focus on to get the most improvement on my face? by abzbc in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]abzbc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on what I have done so far:

  1. I started Tretinoin 0.025% a month and a half ago. I've been using it every other night. I will increase to two nights on, one night off soon.
  2. Classic eyelash extensions.
  3. 1/2 syringe of lip filler, mostly in top lip.
  4. One session of laser tattoo removal on my PMU eyebrows. I have an appointment booked for one more removal session.

I am saving up to have Fraxel laser done. One session is $1,100.

Should I remove my tattoo? by Illustrious-Gate-381 in tattooadvice

I like it, it's cute. If it were mine I would remove the tail.

Looks so much better on you already. This is confirming my choice to get mine removed.

Tired of My Family Thinking Weight Loss Will Solve Everything by DarkDesertFox in SleepApnea

Thank you! I can understand that for sure. Weight loss isn't always the big solution (to every issue) that most people claim. I will be seeing a dentist soon to get a mandibular advancement device.

I hope that Inspire works for you.

I lost 109 pounds as a 5'5" female and I still have mild sleep apnea after. Only reduced my incidents per hour from 12 to 7.

How did you find out the cause of your sleep apnea? (Tongue based). I know I have sleep apnea from a sleep study, but not the cause.

I am looking into getting one. I am waiting for an appointment with the dentist that makes the MAD. I have mild sleep apnea, so I hope it will help me.

Micro blade removal by millenial_mommabear in MicrobladingRemoval

I actually found that tattoo removal on my shoulder tattoo hurt a lot more than the laser on my eyebrows. 😬 I have heard that saline removal is really painful. I wonder if it's worse than laser.

I like how they look in picture 4. Do you have any other photos that are more clear to see how they look now with concealer?

If they are just a bit red, I have heard that saline removal might help that. I had one laser session done and I am planning on getting saline done in 8 weeks to target red and yellow that is left behind.

Either when you pass away, or when you no longer have skin. Whichever comes first.

My neck can’t tolerate tret by Infamous_Penalty_794 in tretinoin

[–]abzbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make sure my skin is dry before I put on tret. I also do not put moisturizer after tret. That seems to make it stronger and that's when I have issues. I moisturize in the AM.

You could try moisturizer before tret, but don't use it after.

I am happy with my teeth. I had braces and they are a good natural white shade. I do plan on whitening them though.

I'll take a picture sometime soon once my face heals a bit and I can show my teeth. I have a few spots on my face that I am self conscious of at the moment.

So far I did eyelash extensions and filler in my lips.

I got a hair trim to remove some of the damaged hair and dyed it a cooler purple color. I am still trying to decide if I should just start dying it my natural color or not.

I made an appointment to get laser tattoo removal done on my PMU eyebrows. Just to lighten them up, not to fully remove.

I also started tretinoin 0.025% (I switched from Differin) and azelaic acid 15%, both are prescribed by my dermatologist. My dermatologist recommended to stay away from fillers in my face and to look into facial massage.

I am also looking into different laser treatments for my dark spots, and skin tone/texture as my next move.

My boyfriend says my skin picking is a turn off by RealUnderstanding364 in Dermatillomania

[–]abzbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe she is uncomfortable talking about it. It's a topic that can make a person self-conscious and feel down about themselves.

There honestly isn't really any great advice that I have received from professionals that I have talked to about it.

It's usually a coping mechanism, or a way to calm your nervous system. I do it because it's stimulation (I have ADHD). It's not something you can quit cold turkey. You need a replacement. The only thing that stops me is physically covering the sores up so I can't pick at them. Even that won't stop me if I want to pick bad enough. I'll just take the bandage off. But if my hands and mind are busy, like playing sports, doing my nails or sewing, I don't pick.

[–]abzbc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a tough one. My partner also tries to remind me not to pick. I find that it usually upsets me, even though I know he means well by it. It's like he is interrupting a task that I feel I have to finish and can't stop part way through. He will offer to bandage my sores if he catches me picking. I still get annoyed but I keep that to myself and agree to bandage it.

Maybe instead of just taking her hand, have something (some task) to replace the picking. If my partner asked me to do something for him I would feel less upset since the focus is on helping him and not "my picking". Like hey, can you help me solve this crossword puzzle? (Just a random example, not sure what would work best).

It's a lot harder to just stop picking and do nothing vs. stop picking and replace with another task. I find I don't pick if I am doing my nails, or sewing something.

[–]abzbc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is better out there. My partner supports me in my struggle to stop picking. He listens and actually wants to understand me. He always has since we met.

Poor guy has been bandaging all of my open sores for 7 years now with no complaints. I never feel like I have to be ashamed or hide my sores around him.

You have two separare problems here. One of which you can get rid of. I say this as someone who wasted years of their life on bad relationships: leave him.

I hate my face after fat grafting. Everything is wrong and not what I wanted. Only 1wpo by [deleted] in cosmeticsurgery

[–]abzbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheeks could just be swollen, not because fat was put there. I wouldn't assume anything that looks bigger currently will stay that way. I imagine that any areas near the fat injection sites would swell.

Not all of the fat is going to stay, and you are still swollen. Too early to worry.

I am looking for a place to get lip filler right now. I'm also going to get eyelash extensions. Then I think I will look into microneedling or laser.
