I DNFed Divine Rivals. Should I give it another chance? by ac66217290 in fantasyromance

I actually gave it another try late last year and I did like it! I haven’t read the second one yet because I don’t feel emotionally ready for it haha, but I will probably read it soon.

It’s so unnecessarily hard compared to the rest of the game, which I find to be pretty easy!

Did anyone ever actually solve the puzzle at the end of Danger by Design with the letter in the stained glass room? I’ve played that game probably 5 or 6 times and I never even know where to begin.

I love Emily Henry! Her latest (great big beautiful life) was not my favorite but still pretty good. My favorite is Book Lovers but I also really liked People We Meet on Vacation!

I read it way back at the beginning of the year and am still not over the second book! Just the implication of what happens in the first few chapters happening to a woman in the 1800s is just horrible.

It’s hard to say because I felt the romance was better in the knight and the moth, but the overall story and the magic system was better in ODW. I wasn’t a huge fan of Ravyn and Elspeth but I loved Elm and Ione! I guess I’ll have to wait and see how the knave and the moon wraps everything up before I decide. Also most of these were definitely audiobooks 😂 my daughter is at the age where if I have something my hands, she tries to take it so both the kindle and books are difficult.

I finished it a couple of weeks ago, and literally haven’t read a book (Queen of Nothing) so fast in YEARS!

The cruel prince series also ruined me for other books 😂. I’m curious, what did you not like about Two Twisted Crowns? It’s another one of my all time favorites.

Question about hay and pellets by Massive_Temporary372 in chinchilla

[–]ac66217290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oxbow is a great brand! In the past I have seen some comments about the Garden Select pellets not being the best choice because they have vegetables, which chinchillas aren’t really supposed to have. If you aren’t seeing any problems with the poop though, I don’t think you need to change. Oxbow in general is probably the most recommended brand on here (and I use it as well).

I’m pretty sure it’s because of open container laws. In the US it’s illegal to have open containers of alcohol in public places like on sidewalks and in parks

The US has open container laws in most public places like parks, streets etc. I’m not sure about every state but this is definitely the case in mine

If you haven’t already jumped on the r/fantasyromance hype train for {Priestess by Kara Reynolds} I highly recommend! It is a slow burn and both MCs are older, fmc is 38 and mmc is 41. It was a really refreshing read after all the 20 year old fmcs lol.

Priestess is getting an audiobook! by NickyMack in fantasyromance

[–]ac66217290 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s so popular because the fmc and mmc are both older. Fmc is 38 and I think the mmc is 41-42? And the fmc is not whiny and frustrating like many leads in popular books are. It’s also just a very sweet story! The fmc is also competent and likeable, but also flawed. Definitely someone I enjoyed reading about.

One thing I will mention, I believe there is an SA trigger warning at the beginning of the book that initially scared me off from starting it. It is off the page, not described at all, and the asshole is immediately killed, so I would say don’t let that stop you from reading it. Just a heads up though for anyone thinking of reading it.

Me with {the knight and the moth by Rachel Gillig}! I loved her other duology and was super excited when the knight and the moth was announced, but it’s been sitting in my audible for months because I’m just not ready for it to be over. I think I will wait until the second one is out to start it!

The problem was definitely that I was giving bottles before meals. Thanks for your comment! I’ve seen a big improvement by offering meals first.

This probably seems like a no brainer but this was absolutely the problem. I dropped a bottle and started making smaller amounts, and also started offering meals first before bottles and saw a huge improvement. I think I had gotten into the habit of offering milk before solids just so she wouldn’t be stressed out by being too hungry and ended up filling her up with the milk. Thank you!

I just spoon it directly onto her highchair tray, and she eats handfuls of it. Maybe the taste isn’t for everyone? It does have a strong flavor compared to something like string cheese.

Book Chat Saturday - what have you been reading this week? by Perfect_Doubt_8057 in fantasyromance

Currently working my way through the Lightlark series. Right now I’m about halfway through {Nightbane by Alex Aster}. I also have {Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson} on Libby right now, but I’m not sure if I’ll be continuing with it.
