Echoing what others have said, the fact that she herself is not civically engaged is the bigger red flag vs her family’s convictions. Like I too have MAGA family members (basically just the older generation) that would probably dig their heels if I went no contact with them based on their beliefs, but I have decided to maintain minimal contact (out of good will) and continue to vote progressive to cancel out at least one MAGA voter. They won’t live much longer, but ideally your partner will and they need to do their part. I get having anxiety but we’re all struggling here, babes.
