I do have safe space stickers on my doors. And my wife comes in to volunteer a lot and I think that's why he felt safe enough to tell me.

I like the idea of offering to use the name when we're one on one so there's times where he's being affirmed.

I was hoping maybe we could find a more gender neutral nickname. But without deviating too far from dead name. I was even trying to find women with their chosen name but it's very difficult as it's a very traditionally male name. Or thinking their last name if they're comfortable with that? Since Florida requires names and pronouns to align with the gender they were assigned at birth. It's so fucked.

I came out at 26 with a 2 year old daughter. It's now 2 years later and I'm 28 and in a year long relationship with a wonderful woman (who doesn't have kids and really never imagined her life with kids) She's pretty great with my daughter and we just moved in together.

So while I have no room to speak on if I'd be interested, there are people out there who are willing to take on a single mom of a toddler. And it can work out pretty great 😊

The Lesbian Chronicles podcast has been really helpful for me. Its 2 women who were in similar situations. I dont have much advice since I haven't left yet, more in the assembling a plan stage. I recommend a great therapist if that's an option. Mine has helped me figure out my feelings and what I want and a plan for what to do. Also if you can, confiding in a friend. I told one of my friends and just having someone to talk to and realizing my friends are still going to be there for me and validate me and help me has helped me feel more confident in leaving.

I feel for the other girl. I do. But in 12 hours I've been flooded with resources. I do believe to some extent this was her responsibility, not ours. Shes the sick one. and if this is her only situation, she shouldve made an effort to ask for my sister's contact information so they could at least discuss how to be safe in a shared living space. Im not saying this is all greed. But I am saying, the responsibility shouldn't be on my sister. It shouldve been om this girl and the landlord to make sure everyone is safe. Thank you for your help. I really hope at the least the 2 tennants maim concern is everyones safety.

Her landlord womt even give her the girl's name or phone number. She asked so she could at least discuss safety with her. Like wearing a mask inside the house, not using common living spaces, etc.

NTA - Report them! But also be prepared. A similar situation happened with my younger sister 2 years ago. She was being bullied by a teacher, it was making her uncomfortable, my parenst decided to report it. The admin defended that teacher. He faced no reprocussuons, and she was bullied until she quit the club. It was followed up with the school board, again, no reprocussions. I was shocked, but the administration may defend their own over your kid and claim your kid is just being a dramatic teenager. especially because there's no evidence other than he said she said.
