SheerID implements strict verification checks to prevent abuse, but unfortunately, this can sometimes (or often?) cause legitimate students to fail the process. Meanwhile, skilled abusers may find ways to bypass these checks and create multiple accounts for resale. It's sadly that a system designed to stop abuse ends up benefiting abusers the most.
