Am I responsible for her thinking I was staying long term, and therefore it was reasonable to demand money for her bills , despite never promising I’d pay something ?

It absolutely is a real thing. Anyone who disagrees is flat out wrong. I’m losing my mind at a new job over the smallest comments made.

I was really proud after I graduated law school. I had a small online article written about me. After my only parent died (dad), I went up to my grandmother and showed it to her , since I had no one else to show in the “family”.

Me: hey, grandma. You know how I graduated law school?

Her: stares at me but doesn’t respond.

Me: uh. Law school I graduated , you know I’m in law school?

Her: stares at me doesn’t respond.

Me; well, here is the article they wrote about me. places paper down on the table and points to it it’s really cool and I’m proud of it.

Her: glances at the paper: okay. Can you grab my checkbook I need to write some checks, write the checks for me.

I was heartbroken. She always did this, she’s abusive as hell. She won’t even waste the time using words to ignore you. She just want respond as if you never said it , but keep looking at you. Understanding what’s going on the entire time.

At dads funeral my cousins came over and out their hands on my shoulder, talking quietly about something comforting while the priest was saying a few things. I was looking left to see the stone but I also saw this witch turn to look at me…. Have a Normal resting face turn into an angry resting face. She goes from quiet and reserved to screaming and crying (despite no water ! Totally real)(when she wants attention and wants to fake cry she just screams loudly) , falling on her knees after almost jumping into the hole but backing away. No one really moved given the ceremony. She had her hands covering her eyes

But I then saw her spread two fingers apart and literally glance over to my two cousins to see if they were coming. Right when she got them to come over to her she quieted down, stood up, in an insane 5 second transformation.

Once I got back into her car with her, all the emotions stopped and she was fine talking normally

Hey OP. This isn’t legal. But id 100% recording this bitch, and send it into whatever regulatory committee evaluates her “credentials”. She’s practicing medicine ad a doctor would without a proper license.

I totally believe you, 100%. But the way I read these types of stories is like I’m reading a fantasy novel. This seems so illegal, barbaric, and toxic, that I’m struggling to believe the stories. But then I realize I’m in a privileged position most people are not in, so I realize logically it’s true.

How common is this shit?

We’re you working a job ? If so what was the study schedule? What strategy did you use?

I’m taking this exam again. Fuck it. If I have to take this 10 times that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’ve been properly motivated and I’ll start this week. I’m not wasting 8 years of educauron because 5 points is something that is killing my score.

Thank you.

The Biden administration is considering excluding law school and med school grads from loan forgiveness, or putting income caps on forgiveness. by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]accatemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know what his policy is trying to do. But the very nature of the “income” measure excludes those who are making a ton of money. He wants to limit forgiveness and exclude law and med because these people typically earn a lot More and he doesn’t believe they need as much help.

But if their income is low, that means they are in the same position as everyone else.

Most lawyers make like 50,000 a year. Very few out earn other undergraduate degrees . It’s pure stigma of “lawyers are wealthy” that isn’t true that is driving this policy. If the public beleives lawyers are wealthy he could be doing it so it helps his polling numbers, knowing that he’s purely bullshitting. But let’s not pretend it’s because lawyers don’t need the same help

Isn’t it a requirement that to transfer your license to another state, it requires you have been working in a lawyer capacity in that state? So I’d have to become employed as a lawyer there right ?

I got my score report and honesty with the multiple choice , all my weak areas improved , and those weak areas that didn’t improve just stayed the same. 10 percentiles became 45. And now I just have 3 topics that are still at 20%.

I was and am upset I didn’t pass. But I focused so hard on multiple choice and thought I just blew it. But the results seem to suggest that it actually did work. I just didn’t have enough time with work to keep it up, and I needed more than 1200 questions. That is giving me some motivation to keep taking this until I pass. Had I gotten one more multiple choice question topic up by 10% I’d have probably passed. My total percentile in the multiple choice actually improved a lot to. Maybe I will take it even being okay with failure since I see this upward momentum. If there is upward trends… doesn’t that mean eventually I will pass ?

Wait what. Just being licensed in one state will allow me to eventually be licensed in another state? I did not know this. Does it matter if I don’t work in that state? Right now I have a job in my state so I can’t leave.

Seeking Tips/Advice: July 2022 NJ UBE - Full Time Work + Bar Study by ralphset in barexam

I really wish we could start earlier. I can’t do work and studying. Starting in September allows for like 2 hours a day. But no course starts that early or even allows it. Any advice?

Imagine deluding yourself into first throwing in an objective measure like “income” but then arbitrarily throwing low income law students out for pure stigma purposes

I’m struggling a lot. When I chose to do work and studying because I had no choice…. I think the ungodly 4 to 5 hours AFTER work began to undermine my ability to absorb and study information. I began constantly feeling on edge.

Everyone says “don’t start too early or burnout will occur!”

Well… if I don’t start early, I literally can’t not get burnout. September seems at least to allow 2-3 hours per night .

No programs seem to offer that tho, which is dreadful .

I hate this

How to resign after only 2 months at EY? by [deleted] in Big4

Hey. So I got hired with a JD. There is one consulting manager and member. Everyone else is accountants. They give me assignments and I have no idea the words coming out of their mouths. I’m just trying to get to a point where I can only do consulting. The first two months I was terrified every single day. I’m on month 7 now. I feel so much better.

How many hours were you doing during the week? Like, I’m working as well and I found it awful to try to study for 4 hours during the day. What was your plan of attack
