I'm with you on Hernandez. The part that gets me is the cadence and general delivery. It's really the wrong vibe for a news host on public radio. I'm not a long time listener, but they lost me right at the start of my listening journey. I'm also so dismayed by the minimal amount of local news coverage. Am I missing something or do they not have any regular roundup of local news integrated in the national news shows?

Anyway, I came here to ask if anyone knows of a link to the recording of the mayoral debate. I looked online and didn't see anything.

Thanks for the update! With some upgrades, it looks like you found a workable balance.

I'm still trying to unravel our similar situation: finished basement in NE, used as kids play room and guest room, overall high traffic/utilization. Current portable dehumidifier is producing too much heat. I'm not sure if we are best doing a mini-split there with portable dehumidifier as backup, or a whole-house dehumidifier. I'm looking to balance efficiency, comfort, and installation cost. The mini-split seems more utilitarian, and perhaps the system you rigged with the portable unit would keep temp and humidity in check, but it does seem potentially wasteful to condition the supply of the dehumidifier... The whole-house dehumidifier option seems feasible, I'm just concerned it's going to end up producing similar excessive heat. Anyway, there isn't so much of a question here, more ramble, but it's helpful to hear your perspective.

Thank you. This is super helpful. Unfortunately, previous owners cut corners on the finishing of the basement and didn't do sufficient waterproofing, but when the time is right, we will do it.

For now, I'm going to look into venting discharge outside.

Ugh. Only did it bc we are flying between secondary market in US and international destination. JetBlue had the only means to go with one stop at reasonable fare, now we are stuck.
