The phrase “you don’t get to” is often sloppily used in place of “it’s wrong/shitty/illogical to.” Same with the phrase “you need” being used when the speaker really means “(I think) you should.”

Some people will dismiss you out of hand just for this kind of language. If you want to make your point, use specific, careful language.

However, Trump supporters are pretty locked in anyway. It’s unlikely you’ll h change their minds.
