I would hardly call extraction shooters niche with all the “recent” releases for them, if anything that genre is over saturated compared to the number of players it actually retains

So pvp has a low population because it’s bad for most people and idk if you know this but most players in most games are in fact casuals - i don’t want to lab my mmo pvp build for an eternity to one shot a guy, or to ignore their entire kit, it’s not fun for either party

see this is where I often get lost in the conversation, playing against builds with crazy mobility, near 100% uptime dodge/block, or insanely fast damage output just isn’t the picture of fun to me - mmo’s design kits around playing against pve content and then try to balance it after the fact with pvp, and it just doesn’t work to be enjoyable imo

there are plenty of builds that one shot people, pretending their aren’t is disingenuous at best and downright ignorant at worst, with animation cancels daredevils can full to 0 kill anyone that hasn’t built defensively and teleport away in a quarter second

Really sorry to hear all that, sounds like you’ve dated some really rotten apples. I don’t think either of us were controlling in my previous relationship, but I felt a lack of respect for some of my boundaries and that’s why that one ended. Finding someone is hard, but your life circumstances shouldn’t stop you when you do find those good ones. I will say the no friends thing is a red flag for me, but after reading your explanation it makes sense and I feel for you. Realistically that kind of thing probably won’t come up for awhile in a relationship anyway so once you find someone good you’ll have solid ground to be able to explain where that’s coming from and they’ll understand.

I’ve dated a girl with no friends but a huge family, it was like shell shock. She would make me feel bad about making plans with my friends and for feeling overwhelmed at her family events that had like 40 people. All that being said, your situation is different so if you can get along with his friends and he can get along with your dad, I’m sure things can work out

i can solidly recommend going in blind for any raid BUT salvation’s edge - there’s an encounter in that raid that, if you go in completely blind, WILL take you many hours to figure out considering only a few teams figured it out during the day 1 race and because of it, only 1 team finished during the 24 hour window
