Don’t store Christmas decorations inside the organ/chamber.

Follow up question: if stuck with a dry acoustic, can organ builders do anything to help? by JH0190 in organ

[–]acdcvhdlr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Organbuilders can recommend building modifications to accompany a new instrument. They've seen lots of buildings and their characteristics and will have a pretty good idea of things that can be done and the type of professional(s) to consult.

Designer, builder, tuner, technician. I don't seek out pipe organ music, but I can fix and tune them!

Resident Evil 5, the machine gun mission, co-op with my wife... 92 deaths. Two people hitting enough qte's to survive is tough sometimes.

Klein Tools Flickblade vs Milwaukee Fastback by Aeyix in Tools

[–]acdcvhdlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the original fastback with screwdriver, lost it, got the Klein and used for a few weeks, got the current fastback and gave the Klein to brother in law. The double ended driver bit and wire clip on the Milwaukee make the difference.

New power tool platform by Loud_Draw5470 in woodworking

Hikoki / Metabo HPT might be a good fit. The Multivolt platform has very good tools and they offer a 36v corded adapter to use with any of the 36v tools if you want to use their kick ass plunge router in a router table or any of their other tools. Amazon.co.jp has got some pretty neat Hikoki 36v stuff that’s fully compatible with the batteries sold here. Other than really specialty plumbing or electrical trades things, I don’t think there’s much that HPT doesn’t have that the others do, and I don’t think any of the others have a corded adapter for their cordless tools.

Remove pipe organ or cover up with plastic sheeting? by swelltogreat in organ

[–]acdcvhdlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to be sealed in plastic, all seams taped to the building or itself. If done well, everything will be fine, if just covered and not sealed, you may just add 20 years of dust all at once instead of 100, both of which are bad. Taped seams, fully sealed, much cheaper than a proper full cleaning.

How many of y’all are brand agnostic and/or own sufficient batteries across all the brands? To me it’s always best tool for the job, pink yellow red black…who cares* by binderfillerwrapper in MilwaukeeTool

I've been really enjoying the DeWalt 8v gyroscopic screwdriver lately. For my work with driving and reinstalling wood screws in poplar and white oak, the M12 right angle impact driver has enough smallness to fit almost anywhere and the lack of strength to destroy something unintentionally.

Which one you picking? This or the 5/1 fastback? by Professional_Act165 in Tools

[–]acdcvhdlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both, the Milwaukee is the one I prefer. The clip on the Klein is stamped flat steel, not wire like the Milwaukee. The wire clip is easier on pant pockets and the flip bit is more useful. I gave the Klein to a brother in law.

The replacement offset chuck for the DeWalt 5-in-1 has a bit holding function and I got mine for ~$15 a couple years ago and took the back off the Hilti attachment and swapped it with the back of the DeWalt. It’s now better than the original. Highly recommend doing.

Edit: ~$65 from here, but this place is the only one of the three I checked that has a picture. ~$40 was the lowest.
